Pros: They work with our change after the flight was cancelled twice and rescheduled.

Cons: Car had not been cleaned on collection and was old (6 years old!).

Pros: Great experience and they were responsive to my questions/needs via WhatsApp which is very helpful/important. Initially, they offered a Suzuki MPV which was pretty new/clean/nice. That was a great gesture by Coastal Cars. However, we’ve got 6 pax with 1 large and 3 medium luggages. Therefore we’ve to stick with our booking for the NV200 passenger van. The NV200 was a good drive though. However, the car was not impressive/clean. But it met our requirements for the space/drive we needed 👍

Pros: Everything perfect, nice car and super guys at the rental

Pros: The man who brought us the car was very friendly and provided some good information and suggestions about driving in Mauritius.

Cons: There was no one to meet us and deliver the car. We asked a nice man from a different agency to call (since we didn't have local phone service) and received the car about 25 minutes later. The car was not clean, particularly the inside and outside of the windshield. Discover Cars has no office at the airport, so we had to leave the car in a space owned by another car company.

Cons: Coche viejo y en no muy bien estado. No funciona cierre centralizado, llave sin botones, maletero cierra mal. No era el Hyundai i20 contratado, podria ser un similar, pero se supone coches bastante nuevos y con pocos kilómetros, este tenía 120.000km

Pros: If they are not busy they will help immediately, in one instance they said to wait 20 min at the drop off but waited 5 min, one agent was already on the parkinglot nearby, and good thing was that an agent was waiting on departure with my name tag

Cons: Before the travel it was not easy to get someone on the phone, I got a different number through whatsapp and then it was ok, and car seats were not clean

Cons: They did not have a car to give me despite the confirmed booking. They then made us wait for nearly 2 hours in the hot sun after we had been travelling for 24 hours. The car they then brought us was a unroadoworthy (tyres worn right down) tiny mini which would not fit us or our luggage. They then said we could cancel the booking (which would have stranded us in the airport) or we could take a pick up that they would bring us. The pick up had faulty breaks and a faulty handbreak. We had no option

Pros: They were very friendly and easy to work with. Our exit from the airport was delayed so they were not waiting at arrivals, and we eventually found the sign and number to call. From there someone came quickly to pick us up and show us the car. We hired an i20 or similar, and received a Renault Duster which was sufficient for needs, clean and tidy.

Cons: Drop off was busy, and this meant we had to do a couple of rounds of the parking area before we could connect and drop the car off which was no big deal. However it was a bit unclear if we were handing the car to the right people and my friend was a little worried that we had handed the keys back to someone quite random! So identifying themselves a little more clearly would help reassure customers.

Cons: Using bad language, did not show us how to use the car. No Bluetooth or cable.

Cons: Did not arrive at time on pick up. Came an hour later. Provided an unroadworthy and dirty manual car. Rejected this and they provided an automatic car a few hours later and verbally agreed an extra 50 rupees per day. I did not ask for an automatic but compromised. They then reneged on the verbal agreement and claimed 300 rupees par day. Rejected this. They got aggressive. Tried to extort money not owed. Late to assigned meeting to return car. Replacement car not great either. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Cons: When I arrived at the airport to pick up the car, there was no one there "to meet and greet". After half an hour, I noticed a hand written sign high up on a wall, with a Whatsapp number, but no instructions. I had no reason to look for it there and it wasn't clear what I was expected to do.

Pros: First thing first coming out of the airport i've spent 20mins looking for the guy and did not find him. I've manage to find a board on the window with my name on and a phone number to call which i could not do. Had to ask a local to make the phone call. He directed me to the car park that i had to walk 10mins to get to with a baby and 6 suit case. Manage to find the guy with a beat up old car. As my my wife was not too well i did no make a fuss as needed to leave.CAR WAS NOT SAFE WHEELE SHAKING

Cons: On the return of the car the guy was trying to blame a damage which was already on the car which i have picture when i took the car. Wasted 2 hours arguing other a damage which was already on the car that i have proof of. I would not recomend using coastal car to anyone. Old beat up car which was not safe at all

Pros: I was attracted to Coastal Cars by the very competitive price. I was put off at first because as a local Mauritian brand I have never heard of them, and there is also not much information available on the internet. I took the chance. In fact the best car rental service I have experienced, and I am a regular renter. There was zero stress at all, something which can rarely be said for the global brands who somehow find a way. Coastal were relaxed, and it felt like I was borrowing a loaf of bread.

Cons: The car wasn't what I'd ordered and was told that the company had run out of vehicles, so we were given an old mini van which had seen better days. We did enjoy the vehicle despite its age, condition and quirks but it wasn't what we were expecting. However, I don't feel it was value for money at all. Sadly, we also had to cut our trip short due to COVID-19.

Cons: On arrival nobody met, but was promised. We come to the place the car was not ready, as lady told they are still cleaning the car. Car arrived with nearly empty tank and up to contract we had full to full. Scratches was all around the car except might be the roof, inside the seats had many dirty spots, gear shifter was in condition of old timer, drivers window opener switch was broken, ignition key in very bad condition. On return we had to wait almost half an hour, nobody was at place.

Initially offering a Qashqai then handing me a much smaller Juke! I eventually got the car I rented, a Toyota Avanza, only after I raised a dispute with Discover car hire.

The car was delivered with not full gas and therefore we had a dispute as to whether I delivered the car with the right amount of gas. If delivered full and return with full gas! No dispute. With the dispute I had to pay 500 rupees extra, which I was not happy.

Cons: They didn’t have the baby seat when we picked up the car They weren’t there when we wanted to make the drop off so we had to wait an extra 30 min and had to have a representative from another rental firm call them and tell them to come... we nearly missed our checkin :-(

Cons: Owner advised of a “late” charge that was applied due to keeping an agent at the airport. Upon arrival the agent was already there helping another customer which means that there was already an agent working.

The front tryes are illigal to drive with, the car was full of dings and dents, stain marks on the rear seats.
