DiscoverCars.com Named World's Best Car Rental Booking Website For the Sixth Time

Every autumn, the travel industry is waiting for the World Travel Tech Awards to announce its winners. We were waiting impatiently, and we got the greatest news we could possibly have — DiscoverCars.com has been named the Europe’s Best Car Rental Booking Website and the World’s Best Car Rental Booking Website.

This news came along with the news of winning the World Travel Tech Awards’ Europe’s and World’s Best Car Rental Booking App, meaning we received all four titles in the World Travel Tech Awards that we could possibly win in 2026.  

The winners were publicly announced at the gala ceremony held in Jamaica on the 12th of October.

Why is winning the World Travel Tech Awards important to us?

The Best Car Rental Booking category has been open in the World Travel Tech Awards from the very first year, and the Awards turn six this year. Before that — when all travel entries were held by the World Travel Awards, including all the tech categories — we submitted our nomination once, in 2020. We won then and have won six times in seven years in total.

This year’s win in the Europe’s Best Car Rental Booking Website category makes DiscoverCars.com the winner among five European entrants. Winning the World’s Best Car Rental Booking Website means we were named the best among five other regional winners.

It is very special every year to be recognized by the World Travel Tech Awards. Seeing the recognition coming every year means even more. It’s a fantastic prestige that we wouldn’t be able to get without our dear customers, our committed partners that we succeed together with, and our greatly dedicated team.

Winning all four categories in the World Travel Tech Awards in 2026 makes the picture whole and resounding.

Remarkably, this year is the first year that DiscoverCars.com became the most visited car rental comparison and booking website in the world. It started in February 2026, and we are still in the lead.

The entry process and evaluation

The regional awards are a starting point for the participants —  the same process as last year for the Best Car Rental Booking Website category. The entries were open for Asia, Europe, the Middle East, North America, and Oceania with 2-5 entrants per region this year.

Europe had the most participants in the category, bringing five regionally nominated car rental booking websites together. The best of each region qualifies for the world stage. Winners of the regions are not announced separately, keeping the intrigue live until the very end of the process.

The World Travel Tech Awards has a unique hybrid voting system that allows it to achieve maximum credibility. Once voting is open, qualified travel agents and tourism professionals can cast their votes along with travel consumers. While every single vote counts, the votes coming from the industry professionals carry double the weight. The voting usually runs for about two months.
