DiscoverCars.com Compared to Other Car Rental Brokers

A few weeks ago, we published that DiscoverCars.com was ranked in the top 50 car rental websites according to SimilarWeb. That ranking, though, includes all car rental websites, both brokers and the rental companies themselves. So how does DiscoverCars.com stack up against other car rental brokers when it comes to web traffic?

For this article, our data* goes back to July 2019. At that time, DiscoverCars.com was 15th out of the 32 car rental brokers ranked by SimilarWeb. By the end of 2020, though, our ranking had increased to number 11, and we even reached 8th place during the summer of 2020.

In fact, the proportion of total car rental traffic DiscoverCars.com received doubled between July 219 and December 2020.

Not only did our overall ranking increase, but the amount of traffic we get relative to the median car rental broker also increased (and did so substantially in the summer of 2020). In the last six months of 2020, the gap between our traffic and that of the median continued to slowly widen. In total for the last six months of 2020, we had more than double the traffic of the median broker — 557,118 compared to 243,586.

So it's clear why DiscoverCars.com was named the Leading Car Rental Booking Website in the 2020 World Travel Awards. We were also the fastest growing car rental company in both the 2020 and 2021 FT 1000: Europe's Fastest Growing Companies. We have and continue to grow substaintialy according to all major benchmarks — revenue, traffic, bookings, and location coverage.
