Car Rental at Warsaw Modlin Airport

Airport travel guide

The capital of Poland, but historically not its most popular tourist destination, Warsaw has been making gains when it comes to international recognizability. In addition to its now very high business acumen and quality of living, the city is also becoming increasingly more important in terms of arts, culture, and entertainment. These are three of the most interesting attractions in and around the city.

• The Palace of Culture and Science. Adored by some and maligned by others, it continues to split opinion, but there is no denying that Pałac Kultury i Nauki remains one of the most recognizable buildings of the Polish capital. Its origins date back to the 1950s and the Polish socialist period; nowadays, it has outgrown its original function and hosts a great variety of different venues and institutions, including a cinema and an observation deck on the top of it.
• National Museum. Primarily dedicated to the history of Polish painting, this massive gallery displays artworks by a great variety of local masters from the last five centuries. On top of that, the museum also has pieces by internationally famous artists such as Boticelli, Renoir, and Rembrandt, and collections on antiquity and art from around the world.
• Copernicus Science Center. Named after the globally renowned Polish scientific juggernaut, this museum is one of the most popular attractions for the whole family. Located in a purpose-created building that’s been open since 2005, its planetarium, robot theater, and exhibitions on all things science welcomes about one million visitors every year.
