Pros: They were good about communication - even when they had to deliver bad news about the lack of a car available.

Cons: They didn't have the car I reserved for 6 and was paying almost $2000 for and needed at 10 pm after arrival.

Pros: Horrible experience. Nightmare dealing with the car and the vendor.

Cons: Flexways did not provide a local number and it was hard to contact them. I later found out they were operating through EC Rent A Car

Cons: We had to sign a statement (I took a picture of it which I can mail if I get a mail address) in which you declare to be liable yourself. You have to pay a lot more to be fully insured according to them. (About € 500). In order not to take an irresponsible risk, we did it anyway. We have now paid 2x insurance costs. Can we still fix that?

Cons: I did not like to hear that I needed to pay extra for Full Coverage when I thought I had paid it already. I would had not botter me to pay these fees if I was clearly informed at the moment of booking my car.

Pros: Amazing value for money for a great car and really friendly staff at EC Rentals who provided advice for driving in Costa Rica.

Cons: EC rentals sold internet in the car for 10 dollar a day. It was very bad, didn’t work. And when we called they send us to a town 1 hour away for an office to change it, but the office was never open. When we dropped of the car, the employee of EC rentals called us a taxi which was his friend. Charged us $20 for 4km totally crazy. So didn’t get the car we paid for. Paid for internet that didn’t work and get screwed at the end. Would never recommend.

Cons: Unaware of third part insurances. I had insurance from a 3rd party and he said it would not work. So we ended up paying for insurances. Tank was 7/8 full and ended up charging me 65$ Canadian. Wanted to charge me for sand on floor of car. Seems like I was unwittingly part of the milk the gringos program.

Pros: Extremely bad, trying to scam me on deposit based on made up loss after drop off

Cons: Not meeting up to pick up car but sending his wife instead and later claiming losses.

Pros: I used EC car rentals through discover cars.com. As noted below I had a very bad experience. Next time I’ll pay more and hopefully I will get a company with some integrity.

Cons: As noted by others this is a shady operation and I strongly advise against using them. I paid full coverage for insurance and added their bonus insurance that was supposed “to cover everything”. I brought the car in and discovered that there was a scratched bumper with some broken plastic. The EC employee said I’d “destroyed the car” and the insurance would not cover it. He refused to call the insurance company and said he would be charging my card $800 and that I would not get my $500 deposit.

Cons: We asked the agent at checkin counter some questions about how to proceed in case of an accident or flat tire and the agent only focused on selling us an additional coverage (we had full protection via discover cars) and did not explain how to proceed if something happens. Luckily, nothing happened so we did not have to contact anybody.

Pros: Evelyn at main office was amazing and very helpful. It was a pleasure to deal with them. Car was perfect.

Cons: They gave us the car without coolant then laughed and provoked us as we tried to explain why that was a serious problem on Costa Rican jungle roads. Because there was a dent on the bottom probably from us hitting a rock at some point, they refused to believe us about the coolant thinking it was some weird scheme to scam them. To have that be your gut instinct with customers already paying you a lot is blatantly horrific customer service. They exist to take advantage of tourists.

Cons: No representative to pick us up at arrival. Had to wait for about half an hour. Tried hard to sell us more insurance. Fees for additional options not transparent. Car had already more than 100'000 km.

Pros: They helped us walk our bags to our nearby hotel since traffic was so bad.

Cons: The way they presented the extra insurance. It was just a communication issue, but it immediately caused me to be skeptical. We got through it though. We also had to insist on getting the 4-wheel drive we paid for as they wanted to put us in a 2-wheel drive.

Pros: I would like a partial refund the car was in terrible internal and external condition. With lights hanging off, body work hanging off and broken, dirt and stains inside the car. I have photos to evidence this.

Pros: A long time for all the paperwork and a lot was wrong like the adress etc.

Pros: The car was not supplied by Flexways but EC Rent A Car. I was forced to pay Full Coverage twice, the car was in bad condition (wheels, brakes, etc).

Cons: The car was not supplied by Flexways but EC Rent A Car. Flexways is there only to get an easy money as intermediary.
