Pros: Efficient, straightforward, no pushy "extras" or insurance sales. I had booked Suzuki jimny or similar and got a suzuki vitara, which was bigger and more comfortable, so pleased with this.

Cons: In the discover car rentals, I booked full coverage for the car, however when I arrived, the agent explained that the full coverage booked was with Discovercars and not the car rental company. Meaning if something happened, I would be charged by the rental car company and then would need to take it up with Discovercars. It would be helpful if signage of this would be more clear

Cons: Bad condition of the car. Many scratches. No cover in the back. The sprinkler did not work. The motor was in a bad condition, We booked a 2,0 but it Could hardly get up the Hills.

Cons: When I picked up the car, the agent charged me a few hundred dollars extra for unspecified local taxes. On the Discover Cars email, it said it included everything, so I felt disappointed and ripped off.

Cons: Old and damaged car for very high rate

Cons: Provided a car with a poor clutch that gave out to me and took hours for roadside assistance then charged me $2,000 for towing and a new clutch. They assured me they would provide all documents and invoices that week so I could file an insurance claim but it took multiple emails insisting to received the proper documents to file the claim. It seems like they charge $2,000 which is much higher than the actual expense with hopes of making more money from the insurance company.

Pros: Professional agents, short time for picking up and dropping off the car. The rental price and the car was exactly the one at the time of booking. I had additional insurance from Discover Car and the agents from Mex did not try to sell me another insurance. The 2500 USD safety deposit was returned at the desk after dropping off the car and it was immediately available on my card. I definitely recommend Mex Rent a Car San Jose and will rent again from them on my next trip to Costa Rica.

Cons: Was asked to pay extra for 'local taxes'. Without which the only option was to cancel the contract. When the reservation was made through discover cars, it clearly mentioned the amount that I need to pay at the rental car place. There was nothing mentioned in that. Rip off.
