Pros: Quick to collect and return. The car was fine. Many other reviews state the charges about cleaning the car, which is not standard for car rental companies, but they do advise you on collection.

Cons: It wasn't a very new car, but it did the job. The car was dirty inside, there was rubbish left on the seats and old drinks from the previous person. It is difficult to find somewhere to clean the car in a new city/country. They charged me for fuel, when the fuel upon collection was only at a quarter of a tank. I have waited over 1 month for refund to be processed and still not received.

I was given bogus reasons and forced to buy expensive additional insurance just to get the car. Their extreme credit card and license demands go far beyond legal or industry norms (eg paying for cleaning). Avoid at all costs.

We were 2 hrs late.

Cons: On arrival, our booking didn't show on their system. This was eventually put down to the fact that we were just over an hour late picking up (after flight delay). Even though we had paid in full in advance (for a 10 day hire), we were told the car was no longer available and that the only option was to book a different car costing twice the price. There wasn't a cheaper option at this point, so we had to go with it - feel like £150 was basically stolen from us.

Cons: Lot of issues with customer service right from the beginning. 1) Our credit card wasn't accepted because numbers on it weren't embossed (new issued cards don't have embossed numbers!) which resulted in the increase of the car rental price by 5x!!! 2) our debit card then was charged twice this higher new price. No customer service whatsoever! For two weeks we tried to call and sent multiple emails... No answer or aknowledgment. Had to visit their office in person to get this resolved.

Apparently this was the new thing that they introduced after 1/01/2025. Also, they didn't accept my Amex, which actually had my full name on it and I was told that they've stopped accepting it after 01/01/2025 but was fine to use it to pay extra charges, which eventually I had to pay in order to get vehicle.

Cons: The costumer service is very poor.. my flight was delayed by over 2 hours and I had prove of it and the flight number was included on reservation but the person at the desk did not accept that and my original reservation was cancelled and my and I had to rent the same car for twice the amount. Also I had to come back earlier so I called the number I was give on the contract to let them know and asked if there is anything I need to do to avoid any issues if I return the car early.

No installation instructions or help from the agent to install. Had to wait 30 mims for the seat and took me another 30 mins to figure out how to install.

Cons: Despite purchasing insurance via discoverycars website, agent tried to 'sell' the different options of coverage during the pick up which were very costly. There is a requirement to return cleaned car (inside and outside)- needed to go to car wash just before entering the airport as it was raining on the way and car got a bit dirty. This is not very convenient. Not sure if customers are charged if car is not sufficiently cleaned on the outside.
