Cons: Very poor service. 45min waiting for picking up the car with only 2 people in front of me. Even longer drop off, there was only one operator doing pick up and return, the waiting was more than an hour, to avoid missing the flight I had to sign and accept not to get the car checked. The car was meant to be cleaned and sterilised for Covid but it was absolutely filthy: there was a stale loaf of bread under the seat, a lot of rubbish in the door pockets. I will avoid Aurovia and Ecovia

Pros: The desk employer from ecovia was very unfriendly, slow working, unmotivated and uncooperative. This was an extremely bad experience with renting a car in Italy and would not recommend it to anyone, especially not at Ecovia in Bologna.

Cons: we were expecting a full fuel tank but got a car in which the Metano tank (good for 300km) was completely empty & only the back up petrol tank (good for 100km) was full. we therefore immediately had to find a Metano filling station.

Cons: I needed to keep the car for an extra day but they did not answer the phone when I tried to contact them for most of an afternoon, nor did they respond to e-mail, and their web site is all in Italian (they are after all an Italian company!)

Free cancellation with a full refund up to 48 hours before your pick-up time, Unlimited mileage, First additional driver, Collision Damage Waiver (deductible: € 1500.00 - € 1950.00), Theft Protection, Roadside Assistance (in the country of pick-up), Third Party Liability (TPL), Airport surcharge, Premium Location fee, Road tax, Environmental charge, Free modifications, State Tax.
Driver requirements
Minimum rental age is 19 years.
A young driver fee applies to drivers under the age of 25.

There is no maximum age.
A senior driver fee applies to drivers over the age of 75.

The driver license must have been issued by authorized authorities at least 1 year(s) before the date of the commencement of the rental.

In addition to the regular driver license, an International Driving Permit is also mandatory if the customer is not a resident of the following country(ies): EU.
Please note that the International Driving Permit is valid only if accompanied by the regular driver license.

In order to pick up the car, the following documents are required: passport, valid driver license, credit card on a main drivers name, booking voucher. Renters from the following country(ies): Italy must provide the following documents: proof of home address (e.g. Utility bill) in order to collect the car.
Deposit and deductible policy
A deposit will be blocked on the customer's credit card until the end of the rental period.
The exact deposit is determined on pick up since the amount is dependent on the type of vehicle.
Payment policy
At time of pick up, customers will be required to pay the amount of the rental and a deposit.
It is possible to pay and leave the deposit only with the following payment methods: MasterCard credit card, VISA credit card, American Express credit card.

Diners, Debit cards is/are not accepted.

The main driver must provide a physical payment card in their name with enough funds to cover the deposit to pick up the car. The rental company will neither accept virtual credit cards (e.g., GooglePay or ApplePay) nor someone else’s card (including family members).
Cross-border policy
Cross border rentals are allowed only upon previous request.
Information on the exact fee amount is available by request.
Crossing country borders is allowed to the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Croatia, France, Germany, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Slovenia, Spain-Mainland, Switzerland, San Marino.
Crossing country borders is forbidden to the following countries: Albania, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Iran, Malta, Morocco, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Tunisia, Turkey.
Optional extras and services
Available special equipment: GPS Navigation system, Baby seat (up to 1 year of age), Booster seat (4-10 years of age), Ski rack, Cross border fee.

Underage additional drivers are also subject to a young driver fee.
When picking up the vehicle, all drivers must be present and must provide valid documentation.

Delivery/Collection service is available within city limits. Additional charges will be applied, depending on the distance.
Fuel policy
The vehicle is provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with the same amount in order to avoid an additional charge per liter/gallon of missing fuel plus a 25 EUR refueling service charge.
Business hours
Period of time, during regular working hours, when the car is still guaranteed for the customer, if the customer is late for pick up (the grace period) is 59 minutes.
