Avia Rent A Car at Split Airport

Pros: People are great, the cars are new. I've been renting here for years and never had an issue.

Cons: They blamed me for the damage under the car which I have not done. This behavior not only calls into question the integrity of their inspection process but also gives the impression of a premeditated attempt to charge me for damage that was clearly not my responsibility. I view this as a serious breach of professional conduct and customer trust.

Cons: I frequently rent vehicles when visiting the Split region, but this was my first experience being charged a "winterization" fee for winter tires—something that was not clearly disclosed upfront. Additionally, I was charged a cleaning fee despite returning the car in excellent condition, with only a few drops of snow on the exterior. To make matters worse, I did not receive the car class I originally booked. The agency’s location was also not as indicated on the voucher. Horrible experience.

Cons: 1 member of the group (we had 2 cars booked) was charged 295 euro for apparent new damage UNDER the car. What we did notice is that the representative went straight away running her hand under the car and stopped at a point under the bumper. She then showed us a photo of 2 scratches on the underneath of the bumper. Our thinking was that this may only have been as a result of a scratch on a kerb when parking which did not happen on our rental period. Car had many scratches already.

Cons: Every panel on the car had scratches that weren't recorded, had to check the car over very carefully before driving away and take pictures of any damage. On return, not all the damage I had pointed out had been noted on their system so was questioned on a few scratches, luckily I had pictures to show they were already there.

Marks that could have been improved with light polishing, but for which we were billed 225 Euro. We experience this as deliberate exploitation on AVIA's part, and we strongly advise against this rental company

Pros: The agents attitude was extremely poor. I asked for another driver to be added to the booking as that would have been cheaper and they wouldn't amend the original booking. I had to pay for an entirely new booking and lost the deposit I'd already paid to discover cars as he said I can't cancel it it's paid to the broker.

They check the car for every small detail when you return the car but only runs lightly through the car when they give i!

Cons: As explained to me by Avia staff, any breakdown would have been treated as being my responsibility and Avia would have been under no obligation to provide any assistance. DiscoverCars said I would have the benefit of unlimited mileage. In actual fact it was limited to 400 km a day. Avia said it could take up to 30 days for the security deposit to be returned under its terms and conditions. This was not made clear by DiscoverCars. Normally, the deposit is returned as soon as the car is returned.

Pros: They are very friendly, take time for the clients and we got some damage but they helped us very nicely. They were sorry that they had to charge it. Not a commercial renter.

Once there we waited about half an hour in a queue as the admin process to get the car was slow. The insurance was steep. Extras meant 80 euros to enter Bosnia (even if a simple day trip to Mostar) and to use a ferry (even a short ride to another Croatian island) another 50 euros. It all adds up.

AVIA Rent A car said they couldn't do anything because my booking has been cancelled by dicovercars.com. Had I known about this cancellation policy I would have never booked through discovercars.com. And I will certainly not book a car again via discovercars.com anymore. The customer service is appalling.

Cons: Different information compared to Discover Cars. Needed to pay more for the car. Did not compromise. Difficulties finding the rental desk/ representative. Awful!

Pros: I liked the efficiency of the representative & the car condition

Cons: I found out by speaking with a representative from another car rental company that I had to contact Avia in order to be picked up from the airport. I did not like the extra 50 euro fees because I arrived after 9:00pm at the rental car location & I surely did not enjoy not being compensated for the mistake made on my reservation.

Pros: They were fine. Renting a car is always a bit stressful with all the options the companies try to present but they were much less pushy than others I have experience.

Cons: Only accepted credit card for the deposit which was a real pain as the only one I had with me doesnt have a high enough limit on it so ended up having to spend more money to reduce the deposit.

Pros: Garbage company.

Cons: They didnt pick us up although that was agreed. we had to call them before they told us where to go for pickup. Even after pick up we had to wait a long time before getting attended. All in all we had to wait almost two hours for getting our car although we had booked a time. Once it was our turn they were trying to force us to buy extra insurance and other additional fees which we had not booked. They were not helpful when we considered cancelling said we would need to go through Discover Cars

Pros: Car was ok. Dropping car was ok.

Cons: Nobody from Avia meet us in Airport. I had to call myself to Avia and they transported whole family to Avia parking lot nearby airport. Getting car took 2h. .

Pros: Things went smooth from pickup and hand back

Cons: Quite aggressive in trying to sell insurances. Also we had to pay a 50 euro additional fee because of traveling to an island, which felt a bit sketchy. Car condition was okeish

Cons: They took more money from my credit card than marked down on the booking information (on information - pay at pick up was 494.48 EUR, they actually took at pick up 501,6 EUR. So I had to pay 140 EUR extra for reduction of deposit, as my credit cards daily limit was set to 2000 EUR based on information I had before. (deposit should have been 1500 EUR)

Cons: you should highlight that you need to have a CREDIT CARD for a deposit, I was charged €200 for no deposit as I only use debit card the car was not clean they tried to offer me a very low quality OPEL not "A Golf or Simular" which I had agreed to not a happy experience at all

Cons: the car was faulty and broke down and when we returned it we got physically and verbally assaulted by the staff, even though they have offered us a full refund it completely ruined our holiday experience and left my family devastated.

Cons: The representative was supposed to meet and greet at the arrivals hall, however they did not turn up. We needed up waiting 45 minutes for them before going to another car hire desk to ask if they could help where they telephoned the car hire place for us. We waited another 15 minutes after that before anyone turned up and they didn't even apologise.

It was also automatic which again I'm not used to and cost a lot more to run. I also ticked the box for fuel to be full and returned full. Again this was not the case. When I returned the car they said it wasn't in the same place and ordered and shouted at me that I had to pay 10 euros for fuel. Cons: Uncertainty of pickup though this worked well. Possibly if pickup at Nova was mentioned this would assist until the terminal at Split Airport is completed.
