Avia Rent A Car at Split Airport

Pros: Good clean car.

Cons: Rental company tried to pressure sell insurance when I had already paid for it with discover cars. They also charged another 30 euros for an additional driver when I had paid in advance. Car pickup was not in the terminal as described.

Pros: A very good company

Cons: Pushing full insurance which I already had with Discover cars. Car examination at drop off different from pick up.

Cons: The rental office in Split airport is difficult to find. It’s the only one that doesn’t have its name visible at the front desk - it’s on the wall inside the kiosk. The car I picked up was in perfect condition but because I did not want additional cover - I was told that it would be scrutinised on return and I would be charged for the lightest scratch. They were promoting return empty policy with a 10% discount on a full tank of fuel. A difficult decision to make when you have no idea how much t

Pros: Friendly service, helpful staff, easy to find, just a short walk from the airport. Highly recommend them.

Cons: The service was very unpleasant. I was informed that my booking didn’t cover everything (even tho I paid for full coverage) and that the deposit would be 1100 euros instead of 900. I didn’t take the car, as the lady said that I will need to pay extra €300

Cons: All the hidden extras. Made it very expensive. Staff made me feel scared to use it because of any issues and what would happen if we had an accident or it got damaged. Not located in the airport with the other rentals

Pros: Awful, interior had two chewing guns stuck to carpet and salt residue over the seats. Not prepped at all. Pressure sold additional insurance at £221 as Discover Insurance was worthless apparently. Avoid. Go with a known brand.

Cons: Returning the car was a bit tricky as we arrived 30 mins early. Told that the desk opened at 8am but staff were present at 7:30am.. no cars being checked in or out, but €50 fee to drop off early… I understand that they need procedures, but if nobody is being dealt with, why not allow people to drop off early for free?

Pros: Very friendly team. I liked the fact that you didn’t have to wash the car. Mine was a bit filthy as it was raining on the way back to the airport. They provided car wash themselves.

Cons: EXTREMELY OVER PUSHY SALES AGENT PUSHING FOR ADDITIONAL INSURANCE. HE SPENT 20 MINUTES CAJOLING A COUPLE IN FRONT OF ME IN THE QUEUE INTO ADDITIONAL INSURANCE, SPENDING 200 EUROS EXTRA AND THIS MADE ME WAIT 20 MINUTES BEFORE STARTING THE PAPERWORK FOR THE CAR. PICKUP TIME AND DRIVING BACK TO THE AIRPORT AS THEIR LOCATION IS A 5-10 MINUTE WALK FROM THE TERMINAL, WAS JUST UNDER 1 HOUR !

Cons: The lack of signage made the car pick up point hard to find. The agents are not so friendly. What surprised me the most is how strict they are with the car inspection when we pick up the car. When asked how much will it cost for a small paint work from a scratch possibly caused by the previous user, they answered Euro 300 plus. In my experience, they used tactic of such to pressure you into getting their insurance at Euro 350. They succeed in my case. Rent at your own risk.

Pros: Good value eventually, after waiting a few weeks. Initial price too high. The car was very good cleanliness (salt in seats) fault of previous customer could not blame Avia.

Cons: Good car well presented. Difficulty finding the company when arriving. Directions would help. I would definitely use them again.

Cons: The rental desk was not as described as the agent is not with the rest of the car hire companies in the airport, they were quite a walk away

Pros: Once we'd found them the staff were fairly efficient and the car itself was good.

Cons: As with all car rental companies it's the lack of clarity around insurances. Although I had purchased my own excess cover we were concerned when the agent told us we would have to report any scratch to the police and would have no breakdown cover without their cover which nearly doubled the cost of the rental.

Cons: SPLIT AIRPORT AVIA Did not provide car booked, “equivalent” car was a group below but it was the “only one available”. No alternate, no upgrade, no apology. Representative did not meet in terminal as advertised - walk there yourself (38C) TWO HOURS in processing to get the car with only FOUR a customers in the queue. Rep spent much time and tried intimidation to oversell unnecessary insurance (Euro 300) despite DCars statement on the reservation that additional insurance was not required.
