Terminals

The three passenger terminals are Terminal 1, Terminal 2, and Terminal 3. Terminal 2 is set apart from the other two airport buildings. A shuttle bus runs between the terminals. You can travel between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 in about 20 minutes and to Terminal 3 in around 30 minutes.

Location

Dubai Airport is about 4.6 km (2.9 miles) from the city center. Sheikh Rashid Road/E11 is the main road connecting the airport to Dubai.

There are also ATMs, many lounges, a lost property office, baby care rooms, a children’s play area, two medical clinics for emergencies, free showers, prayer rooms, and frequent cultural events such as live music concerts. There are two luggage storage services, in Terminal 1 and Terminal 3, that are open 24/7. The airport offers assistance to travelers with reduced mobility, but you should contact your airline in advance if you need this service.

Nearest gas station

Emarat Petrol station at D 70, Al Bustan, Garhoud, Deira can be reached in five minutes and is open 24/7. There are many other gas stations near Dubai Airport and in the city.

• Abu Dhabi (150 km / 93 mi). The capital and the second-largest city of the country, visiting Abu Dhabi should be on the must-see list of any traveler to the United Arab Emirates. Some of the city’s many impressive landmarks include the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Yas Island, and the historic Qasr al-Hosn building.
• Sharjah (24 km / 15 mi). Most of the travelers to the UAE only make time to see Dubai and Abu Dhabi, and while these two cities are undoubtedly grand, the country has so much more to offer. Sharjah, the capital city of the emirate of the same name, is a place of special atmosphere created by its many historic buildings and sites. Sharjah Desert Park is also a great place to visit and learn about the flora and fauna of the region.
• Muscat (412 km / 256 mi). Both mysterious and accessible, the capital city of neighboring Oman is just a few hours drive southeast of Dubai. To go from UAE to Oman you'll have to cross an international border, so ask your rental car provider in advance if they permit it. Also, make sure whether you need a visa to visit Oman.
• Ajman (40 km / 25 mi). A small and interesting city about an hour’s drive northeast of Dubai, Ajman boasts a beautiful coastline, the city museum, and Ajman fish market as its main attractions. A place of relaxed atmosphere, it is a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of the big city.
• Ras Al-Khaimah (100 km / 62 mi). Located in the northern part of the country near the border with Omani exclave of Musandam, Ras Al-Khaimah Emirate is home to untamed beaches, impressive mountains, and historic Bedouin towns.
• Fujairah (112 km / 69 mi). The city of Fujairah, capital of the emirate of the same name, is located on the Gulf of Oman and attracts visitors with its impressive fort, various mosques, and opportunities for different outdoor activities.
