building. A Top Gear employee in bright orange clothing will be able to help you. He will check your documentation, the payment and the signing of the contract.
If the flight is delayed or diverted to another airport the lessee is responsible for getting to the proper airport and informing TopGear Mobility about the situation. If the estimated arrival time exceeds the opening hours of our office (07.00 to 23.00), we will give specific instructions for the pick-up.
If a reservation is made to pick up a car during out of office hours and flight is delayed more than one hour TopGear Mobility reserve the right to deliver the vehicle the following day during office hours.

Famous as one of the main beach hubs of the famous Costa Blanca (or ‘White Coast’) and the larger Valencian Community, Alicante attracts thousands of visitors each year. Home to some of the most picturesque seaside in all of Spain, Alicante is also home to ancient history, interesting culture, and delicious cuisine. Here’s the pick of the main attractions that you can easily reach from Alicante if you hire a car:
- Elche. The next-door neighbour of Alicante, Elche (or Elx, as it’s known in the local dialect) is used to getting fewer visitors because of its inland location. But if you take the 30 minute trip to this charming, slow-paced city, you’ll get a chance to marvel at the beautiful Elche palm gardens (the only ones in Europe), visit many high-quality archaeological museums, or visit the Banys Àrabs, the subterranean 12th-century baths now turned tourist attraction.
- Torrevieja. Of the many picturesque coastal towns that dot the Costa Blanca, Torrevieja might just be the most famous one. Its beautiful beaches are no secret, as well as its coastal cliffs and coves, many of which can be accessed by tourists. But the town is also home to the impressive Museum of the Sea and Salt and has a nature park made up of two saltwater lakes. Whether you choose to stay here or just visit on a short trip from Alicante, Torrevieja is definitely worth it.
- Serra Mariola Natural Park. Spain is home to many protected landscapes and the Province of Alicante is no exception. The Serra Mariola is perhaps best known for its stunning waterfalls but also offers great mountain paths for hiking and opportunities to experience the flora and fauna of this part of the country. The park, located near the picturesque town of Alcoy, is just an 80-minute drive northwest of Alicante.
- Biar. Although its population is just about 3,500, each year the town of Biar gets many times more tourists than that. Undoubtedly, the city’s main attraction is its impressive Arab castle, but other examples of interesting medieval architecture can be seen on every step of the way. Located inland in the mountains, Biar is just 50 km (31 miles) from Alicante.
- Cartagena. Founded by the Phoenicians, who gave it the same name as the legendary city of Carthage, it’s safe to say that Cartagena is not short on historical attractions. Many landmarks of that, as well as Roman and Moorish eras, survive to this day, not least the city’s impressive amphitheater. On another note, the city is just a short drive away from a number of splendid beaches. Cartagena is 120 km (75 miles) southwest of Alicante, a drive that takes about 90 minutes.

Landing very late at night, we got a hotel close by for the night. Excellent Hostel Pensimar in Altet. We would highly recommend this modest immaculate hotel. After collecting the car the next morning, we stayed at Hotel Alicante Golf. Being out of season, not all facilities were available, but it was a very comfortable stay in a deluxe room overlooking the pool and golf course.
We had fabulous food in various restaurants. Umoo was a favourite, fantastic Argentine steak. Visiting Alicante, the seafront is amazing. Highlight was a trip to Altea, with its beautiful whitewashed village. Local transport trams were brilliant and cheap so we didn't actually use the car other than commuting between the airport and hotel. Stopped for a couple of hours in Santa Pola before heading back to the airport, but we wouldn't venture there again. Overall a lovely short break.

I stay in Roda Golf and that was the first time that I drove as automatic car in Spain and while I drive auto at home it was very comfortable on the trip. Eating in Los Alcazares with choice of restaurants give a wide choice for food.

Would recommend for any future renters, but be sure to get the full coverage. We had a damaged car on collection, which thankfully I recorded myself before leaving, but if I did not have the coverage, the suggestion was that they would have tried to put the damages on me.

We ate twice at Casa Toni in Moraira. Excellent food, service and a very reasonable price. The same applies to El Gaucho near Javea. We stayed at La Sella Golf Resort and Spa resort. A superb Marriott Hotel.
