We enjoyed Xabia town, Alicante old town, Arenal beach, Barracca Cove, Garandella cove and Moraira. We visited Benidorm on the way back and much better than I assumed.

Favourite restaurant : Restaurante Punta Prima. Great service, great food, fabulous location.
New find: Mega Asian, Punta Prima - lovely service and great value for money food in a lovely atmosphere.

The car allowed us to easily get to shops/water park and other amenities. We were able to go for meals in neighboring towns.
One of our trips into Allicante was a bit of a disaster. The police had closed roads without warning or diversions due to an event.

We were travelling to Torrevieja to meet family, went trip to Benidorm and major roads were so easy to use, city streets are a bit tricky as very narrow but you can get out and about exploring the area easily.

The salt flats in San Pedro del pinatar are beautiful with flamingos and pink waters! The sun set at the beach at the top is beautiful. There are also therapeutic free mud baths there. Same for Torreveija.

Alicante is a lovely city . Beaches are very clean and have facilities for children . Good value restaurants.
The roads are amazing , you will have no problems driving.
Beautiful towns like Javea , Santa Polo, Torrevieja, and Elche.
I would also recommend getting a map before you travel, as tourist information were closed on the weekends and the car hire don’t supply them.
