Thrifty at Keflavik Airport

Cons: We had a large group and did not fit in the van. Driver picking us up wasn't thinking about logistics and never did bring the rest of our group.

Pros: Really easy to rent car. We got a brand new car, so everything was top notch.

Cons: Getting to the car rental place using the 6-8 passenger shuttle. Had to wait quite a bit, and I had to leave my family behind at the airport due to limited space in van.

Cons: car came with scratches which were not marked, had to request adding them. on return they were looking for scratches and try to blame us. had to provide evidence that they were on car before rental, 15 min arguing and checking evidence on my photos.

Cons: Nothing really although the rental car meeting place at KEF could have be better sign-posted as I had to wait 30min for a pickup, but that was ok as I didn’t have any time pressure

Pros: I would recommend Thrifty to everyone, the company is smooth, efficient, provides great cars, everybody speaks fluent English and we were more than satisfied with our rental car.

Pros: It was fairly straightforward and they didn't try to scam us out of money at the end.

Cons: Inconvenient pick up and drop off, not helpful that you can't just follow Car Rental signs at airport. An SMS notification 60-90 mins before the rental period with the instructions would have been super helpful. The lady serving us confused us with the extra fees for upgrading the car to an AWD / 4WD. She also proposed an absurd luxury level car where the cost per day would have been similar price to the total price for the week. Clearer guidance on insurance would have help.

Pros: Visvaldas Vatikus - the only one who knows how to communicate with customers, unfortunately it doesn't apply to others, especially locals, who apparently hate tourists.

Cons: During transfer - driver accelerated so hard that our luggage fell, and it seems that one broke. Local promised to help us, but never got in touch. Instead of Peugeot2008 we got "free upgrade" Ford Kuga - sorry, but Ford is like as in all jokes - peace of sh**. Check engine light on after 500km. In another car adblue ended immediately - so you constantly had to go to the service... Ordered full coverage insurance from web didn work at local office so we had to use credit card or pay for new one.

Cons: The only improvement would be that there needs to be better instructions on how and where to meet up with Thrifty.

Pros: The two gentlemen in the office were extremely friendly and helpful. Even gave me some travel tips! I have already recommended to several travellers to use Thrifty while in Iceland!
