Northern Lights at Keflavik Airport

Pros: The car body work was in poor condition.no de-icer provided .despite weather condition.no maps supplied.nothing to unfreeze petrol cap or instruction on what to do if cap freezes.

Cons: The driver wasn't on time from airport.time of rental was 11 am got picked up at airport at 11.15.the driver drove as if was racing didn't feel safe despite being -7c

Pros: Friendly staff

Cons: Extra fee for late pickup, although it was informed in advance. Old car with low maintenance

Pros: When picking the car, man serving us was very nice.

Cons: They had our flight info. We waited over an hour at the airport to meet and greet with them. When returning car, curly hair woman serving us was so rude, didnt smile at all and looked like she hated her job.

Pros: Car was not what we asked for. In fact they do not even have that type. No point having a hybrid as they didn’t provide the cables so we couldn’t charge the car at all when we had over night stays defeating the object of having a hybrid an paying more for a hybrid.

Pros: The representative was waiting in the arrivals area and took us immediately to their office.

Cons: The representative was irrititated and short, probably because it took a while for the luggage of our plane to appear on the luggage belt. In the office the atmosphere was not welcoming. The person helping us was efficient but not very nice. The car we were given was the model advertised but it was a very old car with over 300.000km! It was full of dents and scratches, the doors didn't open and close easily and we had to stop several times because the trunk wasn't closed.

Pros: Quick and clear communication. Helped me online with an upgrade of my initial booking.

Cons: Logo of the company in the arrival hall would make it easier to find and wait.

Cons: The staff at the desk was unhelpful and down right rude.They did not give us any upfront information of the workings/overview of the car. The car provided to us was dented , windscreen was chipped and it had battery issues. Once in our tour the car would not start and we rang the desk and the person at the other end was rude and more interested in shrugging his responsibility by blaming us for the cause than trying to guide us to resolve the issue. Will not recommend them to anyone.

Cons: The pick up for the car wasn’t at the airport, the shuttle was full and I had to go back at the airport to get my friends. The car I got was an old model They tried to make me pay for a full tank when I haven’t picked up the car full ! The welcome at the reception wasn’t friendly

Cons: On pick up, there were about 10 people tot who needed transport to the rental company, only 8 seats available in the bus. So had to drive back to airport to pick up my familiy

Cons: There was quite a delay being picked up at the airport. I don't know if this is normal or due to weather or something. No reason was given.

Pros: They were welcoming at the airport, explained everything very well and accepted that we had excess insurance so did not push their own. We of course took care of the car, and on return they checked it over quickly and confirmed there were no issues and thanked us.

Cons: Many of the winter tyre studs had worn/fallen out and the windscreen wipers were not great. Normal rental.

Cons: Slow, rude service. Kept us waiting for over an hour to get back to the airport despite telling them we were running out of time. Refused to give out receipts when leaving car back. The rental car was full of marks and chips on the windscreen. Pieces hanging from undercarriage. Definitely take a video before leaving. Place just had a dodgy vibe.

Cons: The passenger door window seemed to be off track. The "trunk" was super hard to close you had to slam it. When I needed customer service there was no answer. Then I was charged over $1,000 for a wind blown door and they told me Discover insurance would cover it even though they don't. We held the doors everyone and have no proof it wasn't us, but based on the other car issues it was likely already broke. I corker fight at the service desk cuz even though we got there 4 hours early no time

Cons: They picked me up over an hour after I arrived in Iceland. When I called them about them being late, they said it would take 20 minutes, then they arrived 40 minutes later. And my travel companions couldn't join the pick up, so I had to pick them up after getting the car. At the car pick up point, they gave me the wrong car. So that took a long time again to get the correct car. After getting back, with a few small scratches on the window, I had to pay 1000 euros. Etc etc etc

Pros: They were extremely responsive to my requests.

Cons: We had to wait 20 minutes for someone to show up at the airport. You have to have an insane amount of money on your creditcard for the insurance or pay 60-100 euro extra. Also when we brought back te car they tried to convince some door was damaged but it was clearly it was already like that when we picket up the car. They were “kind” to let us go with just a good review but that’s not how it works. The car was fine but when we drove uphill or pulled up fast the car started shaking weirdly.

Pros: Great service. We returned the car the night before because we had An early flights and booked A hotel nearby with transfer to the airport. The agent just said i will drive you back to the hotel, thats good service. Everything was good! And they work 24/7.

Pros: Discovery promotes buying insurance before. Northen lights pressures you into buying insurance from them or else they will hold 2800€ on your credit card for 2 weeks. If you buy the insurance FROM THEM they will not do that. Also they don't check the car for damage witj you before. They send you to do a film yourself but when you return the car they even with a flaslight under the car!

Cons: the rep encouraged us to rent a GPS so we did , then when we got in the car we realized it HAD a GPS built in. she gave us a wifi modem to use as compensation.

Overall 0/10, will never be renting here again, and will not be using discover cars nor recommending it to anyone

Cons: Drop off took too long; also, the cars are all quite used. I didn’t feel safe in the first car they gave me. The second was better, but wipers weren’t very good and there was a crack in the windshield.

Pros: They were flexible and able to accomoddate a larger vehicle than we booked originally.

Cons: Nothing on the service but the SUV was very old. 225K kilometers. Althought it drove well.

Cons: Waited 45 mins on returning the car for the shuttle to the airport, which is advertised to operate every 15 minutes. As such we had to rush through the airport.

Cons: the car was very old and quite dirty, it had some problems with sensors, so was beeping all the time, didn't have 5 doors, so was very uncomfortable to use. The child's seat was barely holding together, one strap just came off.
