Mazda CX-30
9/17/26

Pros: Very friendly

Cons: The drop off at the terminal in rain and wind was not very nice. Arrived at terminal very wet.
United States of America (USA)
Kia Sportage
8/13/26

Pros: Ease of pickup and drop off

Cons: Upselling of options
United States of America (USA)
Kia Picanto
2/11/26

Cons: Due to construction, the rental car area is a mess in the airport. It is a meet and greet for Alamo.
United States of America (USA)
Toyota Yaris Cross
9/2/25

Pros: They were fast, friendly, and easy to work with

Cons: See above... he kept mentioning insurance which made me dount the coverage I had. I actually purchased partial insurance through Alamo out of fear. Upon returning home, I re-read your coverage, and I think I was fine the whole time. My only suggestion is to have a closer relationship with the Alamo rep so that everything is clear.
United States of America (USA)
Toyota Yaris Cross
8/25/25

Pros: It was easy to find, but that is the bare minimum I guess. I was allowed to pick up the car 30-45 minutes before the actual check-in time due to my flight landing early.

Cons: 1. The pick-up agent was very terse and gave no information about how many paid parking attractions there would be. This is a recent Icelandic development, and as a return traveler, I was caught off guard. The agent just said, "Here's the car. Green color for fuel." 2. The speedometer glitched BIG TIME. We had to call roadside assistance to troubleshoot because the digital speedometer glitched at the same speed, even though we accelerated and decelerated. It just stopped working.
United States of America (USA)
Renault Trafic
7/31/25

Pros: Overall it was fine. We had a large Renault Trafic van for my family’s six plus luggage. It didn’t feel like a great value—but nothing does in Iceland.

Cons: The van had mechanical trouble and we had to wait on the side of a rural highway for Alamo to bring us a replacement vehicle. Pick up was very slow. Lots of people and only a few agents working.
United States of America (USA)
Toyota Yaris
2/23/25

Pros: The agent that assisted me, Olivia, was rude while her coworkers however were helpful.
Ireland
Volkswagen ID.5
1/25/25

Cons: nothing to dislike. car might have had a charging issue as it was slow to charge but that was about all
United States of America (USA)

10/23/24

Pros: Rental staff at Alamo were very efficient and helpful, the car was clean and ready at pickup
Canada
Toyota Yaris
10/10/24

Pros: Fast and easy and again, good price.

Cons: It's fine that everything was fast but the only thing is that sometimes you feel like they want to get rid of you,
United States of America (USA)
Kia Ceed
9/27/24

Pros: Agents were good and car was ready

Cons: A bit hard to find the shuttle to the rental desk. The return was a little confusing and not as fast and efficient as we’ve experienced elsewhere.
United States of America (USA)
Toyota Yaris Cross
9/26/24

Pros: Good service.

Cons: Very dirty windshield on inside. There was damage to the front undercarriage of the car that we noticed hours after leaving the lot. They acknowledged it when we turned in the car, but it would have been nice if they pointed that out before we left.
Canada
Toyota Yaris
9/23/24

Pros: The representatives

Cons: The online check in process doesn’t allow the individual with the reservation to upload photos of their credit card. Customers have TAP options now on their phones and do not carry physical cards. There should be another option for TAP users vs. Bringing your physical credit cards.
United States of America (USA)
Toyota Yaris
9/17/24

Pros: Agent was very thorough and patient, showing me where everything was in the car, dashboard, being aware of Icelandic weather risks on the road.

Cons: Just a few minor things with the car: no USB or headphone ports, slightly defective gas tank cover—which jammed, then came off in my hand.
United Kingdom
Toyota Land Cruiser Prado
8/30/24

Pros: Pickup was quick and efficient, staff very helpful, and quick and easy drop off. Car was in amazing condition.

Cons: When picking up from airport, a shuttle runs every 20 minutes. The pick up point for the shuttle is in the open and can be very difficult to stand at when it’s cold and windy.
United States of America (USA)
Hyundai i30
8/23/24

Pros: They were friendly and courteous. Helpful in explaining Icelands traffic issues and things to be mindful of. They even offered a ride to the airport when we dropped the car off.

Cons: Nothing, all was easy and straightforward.
