I was scrutinised upon return, ironically by the same gent who picked us up from the airport. It felt like they were waiting for a new scratch or damage to charge extortionate amounts to fix the overall condition of the car. Never experienced this in Iceland and I have been over 8 times.

Pros: Ola was highly professional, thorough and helpful. She answered all of our questions and was very thorough reviewing the condition of the car and recommending hazards to be aware of while driving in Iceland.

Pros: The car was great and the person checking me in and out was super. Make sure you give yourself enough time on either end. It is a shuttle that takes you to and from and it is a 5 ish minute drive so if they just left - it will be 15 ish minutes until you’re at the airport so budget for that time.

There was a chip in the windshield when I returned the car but I have no memory of any rocks hitting it, which makes me think it was there originally but I didn't notice. Then they charged me 105,000 Iceland Krona to repair it. Representatives at discovercars.com do not answer specific questions about the claim process which makes it very difficult to proceed. I fear that I'll lose the money even though I bought Full Coverage Insurance.

Cons: The gear was broken at the forth day. I made phone call but Ace told me how to drive. I stocked in the front of tunnel and blocked the road. Luckily, 2 people pushed my car to side way, 1 nice man helped me to fixed the gear but I only can drive with gear D and N all the way from South to East. After I arrived me stay place, I contacted Ace again and had to explained again and again... finally, ace sent a local repairer who came to check and fixed the gear shift.

Cons: I wanted to change the date of returning the vehicle in time, but the agents did not allow me to do so. They shifted the responsibility to each other, and I was not given the right under the contract to be able to change the dates 24 hours before picking up the car. I am extremely dissatisfied and will not recommend them.

The car had over 100,000 KMs on it with many dents and chips. Luckily I took photos and the damage was all documented so I was not charged at all upon return.

The car had 78,000 kilometres on the clock - the highest I have ever seen on a hire vehicle in over 40 years of renting in lots of countries. Car did perform OK though.

I recommend that when picking up car, you should walk around the car with the client and show where the x damage marked on the form is on the car so that there can't be confusion of how damage occurred upon returning the car.

Cons: Getting to the rental counter required finding the right shuttle driver holding a sign at the airport which was pretty chaotic during busy tourist season. Once we were picked up and shuttled to the actual location, had to wait close to 45 minutes in line at the counter because they were slammed and only had three people working the counters. Waiting area was jam packed and no seating. A little frustrating specially after a long flight. Service upon reaching the counter was fine and professional.
