GreenMotion at Keflavik Airport

Pros: Kind, accommodating staff; check-in and check-out was smooth; there is a donation shelf where people could leave/take items for reuse; the delicious coffee machine for guests; pickup/drop-off at the airport was efficient and fast; because I had full-coverage through DiscoverCars.com, GreenMotion didn't place a security hold on my credit card which was a Godsend

Cons: Took over 1 hour to get the car and also the get back as its far away from airport, car was very old and radio not working good.

Pros: It’s no easy to find the agent and in the bus still there is the sign of green motion. We taken the bus to old location and I call customer service to pick up us in old hq. Any declaration at drop off or signature to had delivered the car properly.

Cons: Good, they suggested to me to pay for extra assistance between me and green motion because the no risk assurance performed was between discover cars and me. In case of accident I have been to pay the repairs to green motion and request the refund to you. Anything happened but the cost has been 500€ Or 1.000€

Cons: Slow and not thorough, and too quick to get rid of you.

Pros: Green Motion was horrible. Changed location, not met at airport, shuttle still takes you to old location, where another shuttle takes you elsewhere. And Go Car did not respect our insurance deal. Plus car usb port was malfunctioning.

Cons: They essentially washed their hands of the whole contract. Terrible service.

Pros: Efficient staff, location was a tad difficult to find especially in a snow storm when we just landed. Fast response times to emails.

Cons: Picking up the car took a long time. Dropping of the car was idiotic. The sole employee who apparently was allowed to do customer interaction, was literally planning someones holiday while 3 cars were waiting for drop off, and one to pick up. In the end after 20 minutes and some complaints, we were told this was just their service they offered, and we could leave our keys behind. From someone else we know their employee has spend at least 40 minutes on planning someones holiday.

Pros: Friendly staff and thorough with rental process.

Cons: Car was not fully fueled when driven out of rental lot. Also would be nice to have Apple Play feature to connect GPS and also rear view camera and blind spot indicators on side mirrors.

Cons: Technical condition of the car could have been better. License plate was missing, car needed service and windshield wipers got stuck in the viewing area. But, we had no issues, so not a big deal :)

Cons: Only one person to service pick ups. I did like that made drop offs a priority. We had to wait over an hour to get our car. Once we got the car it was on empty. Not a great feeling and now we had to make it a priority to find a gas station. The staff didn't seem to care that we had no gas.

After 5 days a realized there wasn’t enough windshield fluid. There were days when the car was alarming me that all posible services need to be taken care off. When I complained about it I wasn’t nobody didn’t say anything or offered discount. Never again this car rental. overpriced, dangerous, really bad

Exchange of the car was hampered by communication difficulties, first agent arranging replacement was off the next day so nothing happened for a long time and we had to arrange replacement again with a different agent, delaying our travels

Pros: I was little bit worried based on previous reviews, but service was good and fast. Car was in good shape.

I went to ask him if he knew where the staff from Green Montion would be... He said it was him and started shouting at me and my children. It was crazy. Next, the lady at check in tried to charge me double insurance. Upon check out, when I told her I found out I actually had insurance with Discover Hire, she said "that is not with us".

Cons: Car had 99k+ km on the clock, had much more damage than presented on the check sheet, windscreen wiper ineffective, took a huge deposit which is not yet returned, even though I showed them that I had paid you full cover.

Cons: They gave me a car where the front door didn't open, and the back door would not lock. And the oil light was on the entire time of my rental. This car should not be on the road! And, yet they would not compensate me for this in any way when I dropped off the car.

Cons: The fact they took my money without my permission. My partner was forced into giving good feedback on the spot so the agent could 'get a free meal in his own words! He was pushy and I did not agree with that AT ALL.

Cons: Specifically chose the Vitara as both my wife and myself drive these cars in the UK, but was given a Dacia Duster upon collection. There was no other option, which meant the wife refused to drive during our trip, which was an annoyance as I had paid an additional fee to have her as a named driver.

Cons: Took 45 minutes to be picked up at the airport. The car was very old (130,000 km), and didn’t run that well.

Pros: This is by far the worst rental car I have ever hired. It was unsafe and dangerous. It had windscreen wipers that were is awful condition, the head light was out and the windscreen was badly cracked. When we realised all of these issues we were well on our way and didn’t want to waste a day messing with changing the car. The ‘4 x 4’ I apparently hired was not fit for purpose and I was caught in one very dangerous situation with the car breaking down and the tyre freezing. Awful service.

Pros: No more space to write about what I did not like. It is important to mention the airport shuttle system is completely disorganized. customers cutting lines to make it to the airport. The stuff has no system whatsoever, leaving some customers angry when they have to wait for the shuttle for 2 or 3 even though you're next in line. Free coffee is one nice thing about their office.

Cons: Digital fuel gauge seemed to show full tank, which one would assume when told it's on a full to full basis by the agent. However, after first filling up, it became apparent that it was not full. two bars were missing at the time of pick up. Shame on them for allowing it, but i guess it's my fault not googling the car specifications. Can't trust anyone. Obviously, on drop off, the agent said he can't do anything as pictures are no proof. Makes sense, it's just sad they cheap people like that.

Cons: The car itself was good. Booked Volkswagen golf or similar, certainly wasnt surpised when it wasnt a Golf. The windoe wipers were terrible and it was really difficult to drive in any rain as it just smeared. The light were really poor and i had to drive with the full beam on just go be able to see the road. The service light was on when i picked the car up so it was over due a service, the number plate bulb was also out which gave a warning sign.

Cons: The fact they made sure I couldn't leave the deposit on my credit card due to them using a faulty card machine and refusing to try another machine. Contacted my bank whilst there and they said it was a technical issue with your machines. So I had no choice to purchase premium insurance. Also staff very rude!

Cons: My first car had a Flat battery. The car that i ended up with kept having a low tyre pressure and engine oil change indicator that kept coming up. Also the car was very dirty.

Pros: Initially were were reasonably satisfied.But when they tried to persuade us to take their insurance at an extra cost of 30 euro per day, despite the fact that we had already paid for fully comprehensive insurance, we became a little suspicious and contacted our insurers in England to clarify that our insurance was adequate.

Cons: We feel that we were misled by Green Motion. They accused us of chipping the windscreen and said we would have to pay $1000 to replace the whole screen, for a tiny chip that could safely be repaired for minimal amount.

Cons: When I rented this car, I paid for full coverage insurance. When I got to Iceland, it took an hour and a half for the shuttle to get to the airport to take people to get cars. Then they guy doing my paperwork told me I had to buy their insurance to be able to take a car. I told him I already had full coverage insurance and showed him the email. He said that was from a third party and that didn't count. I had to buy double insurance to rent that car.

Pros: When dropping off the car, it was easy to return the keys and get the cab to the airport. Furthermore, the staff was patient with my technical/legal questions and had simple understandable answers.

Cons: It took us 2 hours to the cab to Green Motion. Not just because we couldn't find the representative - there was a 20 person line for the cab, and for some reason their drivers weren't coming regularly. This is a literal 5 minute drive, so don't understand the cause. After a flight, to have to wait 2 hours just to even get in line to receive the car was very frustrating. The staff at the Green Motion office was also not very understanding when we were frustrated from the extremely long wait.

Cons: Very slow. Felt as though they could careless about the customer. Many people working there, but no one could even greet us, say hello, or say please wait a moment we'll be right with you. Instead, they continued to socialize with each other while we just stood there wondering which desk we should go up to, or even if we should walk up to one of the desks. Serious attitude issues. Even the driver picking us up at the airport (and the driver dropping us off) were very unfriendly and unhelpful

Cons: Personnel is very rude and when we left the car, they tried to put on us the responsibility of a tony scratch. The reason for them is that scratch was due to the wind and that we needed to pay for that. We hopefully had taken loads of pictures when we received the car and showed that the tiny scatch was already there.

Pros: It took almost 2 hours from airport pick up to check out. We had reserved a Gps which they sold us in addition to wifi in a car that had a navigation system.

Cons: See above plus would not honour insurance package we had purchased through discover hire. Were overcharged and up sold on items we did not need in addition to very lengthy pick up. They only had 2 customer service agents working despite knowing the number of reseverations they had.

Cons: Nobody told me by any mean that i would have to give a 3000$ deposit when renting a car in my last destination: Iceland. Because of that i had to pay 250$ CAD more to get full insurance because i didnt have a credit card high enough for the deposit plus the reservation. Really not great on budget. They know how to make money.

Cons: Didn’t have GPS when we requested one. Staff member who handled our pick up of the vehicle was incredibly rude and unhelpful. The wrong address for returning the vehicle was provided, we had to confirm which office to attend too. Representative didn’t take any time to go over the car for scratches and dents etc, we had to return 4 times before leaving to have the representative circle the issues. Would never recommend this company nor rent from again. Horrible experience.

Cons: Finding the rep at Arrivals wasn't straightforward. Time told we had to wait for the minibus was wrong.....in the end the rep said I should phone minibus driver as he'd give me a better estimate! Which I did. At office we had to wait ages to see a rep - we only had one day in Reykjavik and all the delays severely ate into our precious time there. Internet going down midway through process didn't help matters. Car was a bit "thrashed"; windscreen wiper was worn & inside windscreen was oily.

Cons: I was extremely disappointed with GreenMotion. They provided me a car that needed an oil change, squealed around every corner and came with a non-working GPS. Their staff was rude and condescending. I would not recommend them.

Cons: I was offered full insurance by Greenmotion, when I had already bought it from Discover Car, thinking it was Greenmotion. They said it was not their extra insurance so I would have to deal with any claim myself.

Cons: The desk was hard to find luckily a guy with a sign appeared. When we finally arrived to the rental car desk, it took almost an hour to get the car. They had plenty of staff as we could see them while a guy was cleaning the staff room however only four people were assisting customers. There were empty desks for them to work from or someone could have driven all the drop off people to the airport. Their process was completely inefficient and their customer service was terrible.

Cons: As previously stated, your policy of insisting on car insurance or a $3,000 hold when one can prove that their credit card includes primary rental car insurance coverage seems to me like a form of price gouging. At the very least, list it clearly at the time of online booking so your customer knows exactly what he or she is paying.

Pros: Friendly and willing to give information re: how to get to some places.

Cons: The representative informed us that high winds that blow sand and ash are common on Iceland and that we should get the highest coverage for the auto. I asked a few residents if this was true and they said it used to be but is no longer true. Also, the representative stated that we rented the car through a third party and that party did not cover all that we had paid through them.

Pros: The tire pressure monitor sign came on 10 minutes into our driving the car and stayed throughout , green motion should have inspected it before renting the car to us otherwise our experience was good

Cons: The car was not given to me with a full tank. The rental insurance was very expensive and yo opt out required a $3,000 deposit. The rental process was also unorganized and took a really long time.

Pros: Issue with tire going flat; resolved the same day by a wonderful representative.

Cons: The service associate was rude and charged me without explaining what all the charges were. I had to ask what each was after he issued me receipts without explaining what they were for.

Pros: We had the cellphone number of the car service manager - which we needed for a couple of different issues with the car. Runar was his name - and he was wonderfully helpful.

Cons: We waited over 3 hours in their waiting room before we were seen by an agent.

Cons: The wait time to pick up is unlike anything I have ever experienced in my lifetime of travel. It's obvious your employees are trained to push insurance policies, even if it literally forces customers to wait hours. A very poor first impression of Iceland.

Pros: About the service specifically, nothing really. I had to wait 20 min for the pickup service from the airport to the car rental place. I had to wait 40 minutes for the pickup service form the car rental place to the airport on the way back. I am not sure this is the average waiting time in Iceland, but it is not in much of the rest of the world.

Cons: Beware, very tricky people. This was the most negative experience I had with rentals. When I arrived there, I was told that my credit card was not functioning, so I asked whether I could cancel my reservation at no cost. They said that I could do that and nothing would have been charged. So, I did that and later managed to get a different car with them as I needed it. After 5 days I found out they charged me for both the car I rented, but also the first reservation I had cancelled.

Cons: We were charged for a very small windshield chip, and greenmotion agents were very misleading about the entire process, making false statements about the need for a full windshield replacement and taking advantage of our need to get to the airport to get us to sign documents.

Pros: Great car perfect size to fit all our film equipment and climbing equipment

Cons: During pick up I had to wait a hour to be seen and to pick up the car, in all respect it was very busy in the office with a line of other folks waiting to be helped too. Not sure if it was due to employment or to high volume that it took a while. But when I was helped it went nice and smooth and was out the door quick, It also took about the same amount of time to return the car again maybe due to high volume of little staff. You should probably just set aside a extra hour for drop and pick up.

Pros: The car was in good condition, drop-off was relatively quick and easy compared to pick-up, there are horror story reviews online about GreenMotion that I did not experience.

Pros: The person who picked us up was friendly. We didn't have many issues getting the car and getting to our destination.

Cons: It took a long time to get the car. We didn't understand how the car worked (it was a manual/automatic which I have never seen) and it was difficult to get someone to just show me quick how the car works. I had to beg for help which is kind of sad. But I didn't want to be unsafe or damage the car. The website allowed me to add insurance for the car so I paid for it but when we got there they pressured me into another insurance and said the one I on their website wasn't good so I wasted money.

Pros: Nothing. The service and insurance they require scam customers in to spending almost double they originally intended. The car also was meant to be a VW Golf (or similar) but the quality of the car provided was not similar at all. We own a Golf so we know what it is.

Cons: The way they force you to buy premium insurance otherwise you have to leave a $3000 deposit even though it’s clearly not required for normal driving in Iceland.

Pros: Actually, I didn't like anything about the service provided by GreenMotion. When I did ask a question (after waiting for 30 minutes), the employee was rude and told me to wait until I was called.

Cons: Pretty much everything, the car got us to and from where we needed but I wasn't sure if that was going to happen. Like I mentioned, the pickup and drop off time were incredibly long for how NOT busy it was.

Pros: I could tell they were totally overwhelmed after I returned my car because there were easily 50 people sitting in the waiting room and outside so I respect that they were trying to get everyone in and out as best they could.

There was no arguments or disagreements so not sure why the robot approach. On my return I understand because they were crushed so no complaint there, just thought the arrival was blah and I was so excited to be in Iceland and felt like they did not share the same demeanor but they live there so...

Pros: The car was nice, the automatics weren't super-expensive, and the shuttle service was convenient.

Cons: The agents take forever... we were only 5th in line when we arrived but waited over an hour. Our agent wasted ten minutes going on and on about why we needed to spend extra money on sandstorm insurance and we finally did it just to get him to stop talking (we absolutely didn't need it and it wouldn't have covered glass damage anyway!). The agents need to be more efficient. Thankfully we had better luck dropping off the car.

Cons: The agent during pickup was very rude. He was very persistent in getting me to buy the insurance. I told him i already am insured. But he then started threatening me by saying i would lose my 2 thousand dollar deposit if he sees a single scratch during return. I told him to come outside with me to inspect the car's condition before i drive off but he refused to. It felt very unprofessional. I left the agency feeling uncomfortable with many doubts about my rental.

Cons: When I was checking in, the representative didn’t want me to use my debit credit card, even though that is what I had done to book the vehicle. Then he said that I could use the card if I bought the insurance, which I was already going to do, but it made me feel a little manipulated. I think if credit card is required, you should not be able to do the booking with a check card and it should be explicitly stated

Pros: It was cheap, relatively easy, the car was nice, and most of the workers were friendly.

Cons: They try to get you to purchase outrageously expensive additional insurance that is completely unnecessary by using scare tactics. They imply you have no coverage even though most of the insurance is included with the rental. I work in auto insurance so i completely understood what I had decided, but the representative insisted on going through her pitch for the more expensive insurance options. $30 or $40 per day for "deductible coverage" is immoral and designed to take advantage.

Pros: Close to Keflavik international airport in Iceland and is open 24*7. Lounge area in the office has sofa so customer can sit and wait after flight journey.

Cons: The advertised rates on the comparison website were kept low to attract more customers. However only upon arriving at their office for picking up the car, we learn the rate does not cover any sort of protection that Icelandic roads demands. Then the agent goes through all kinds of add-ons for protection that the customer ends up adding to the price. That results into a final figure that exceeds any other competing rental company's better end of the car ranges if compared on comparison website.

Pros: I did not have any trouble with inquiries before my trip. There was always someone with a prompt response.

Cons: I initially chose the full insurance. I was confused a bit on additional insurance when I was renting the car. It turned out fine, but there could be clarification on line and or in person.
