Routes Car Rental at Keflavik Airport

Pros: The only issue I had was communication. If you live in the US and need to get in touch with this company it was very very difficult if you're unable to make an international phone call. They don't respond in a timely manner to emails

Pros: Car was in very bad condition. Rust, damage and overall bad condition from previous rentals, extremely high kilometers.

Cons: Service was good. Shuttle was perfect. The condition of the car was extremely bad.

Cons: Rude uncooperative staff while pickup. Opaque charges for toll -- their service fee was five times that of the toll that wasn't explained ahead of time.

Cons: We waited almost 90 minutes for pick up in the airport then waited another 2 hours to get the car in the office, there are only 2 people working in the front with lots of customers, same situation the day we dropped off the car. The pickup guy was not helpful with all the customers at all but the drop off guy( from Romania) is helpful.

Cons: Got a beat up car old car with 95,000 miles (153,000 km) on it with rust inside. It was the style of car we expected ("Toyota Yaris or similar") but significantly older /worse than other customers got. The rental agent apologized and said "it's all we've got left" even though we made reservations months in advance. Pickup from airport terminal slow, waited 45 mins past the designated pickup time before the driver showed up. Spent another 45 mins at the rental car station waiting for our car.

Cons: I never got the car, the “company” they worked with in Iceland didn’t seem to exist because their physical address had no office and they never responded to phone or email inquiries.

Pros: Across the board a pretty good experience with a single significant frustration that could be accomplished easily.

Cons: The pick up experience at the airport was extremely frustrating. It should be clearer who is actually providing the car (not some weird front) and what to expect at pickup.

Cons: The woman who checked us in raced through the extensive damage that was already on the car, pressured us to purchase insurance we didn't need, and was extremely rude to us throughout the transaction. The passenger front window could not be rolled down because it came off the tracks. The vehicle was very sluggish going uphill......

Cons: Money oriented - taxed me 50€ because plane was delayed dud to strong wind and another colleague said that was for holding the car of being late even though I called them several times to update where I am), car was old…250.000 km, smell ls inside, water in the boot, no documentation with the car condition on collection even though I was told I would get one, one small van for shuttle-waited long time (40-50 min) on collection and 25min on drop off, no emails replied etc.

Pros: The shuttle worked well, just had to wait a while to get it.

Cons: The car they rented us was a 20 year old Dacia. It had a broken tail light, numerous issues with body damage, no power whatsoever (I needed 1st and 2nd gear to get up hills) and several warning lights came on that I could not get turned off.

Cons: Once we arrive the desk person did not know that the amount was already payed and she asked us to pay 141€ more. So we had to explain and show our voucher. When we booked the car we chose Suzuki Jimmy or similar and they gave us Dacia Duster and said that this is the only model they had for us.

Cons: That it felt like the problem was put on me when I had problem with the run down car that I rented.

Cons: Information at the airport about the shuttle would have helped a little bit, what sign to look for when the shuttle arrives.

Cons: The service was terrible. The staff were unfriendly, the car was terrible. It was ancient, had hundreds of thousands of miles on the clock, no remote locking, USB didn’t work, warning lights on the car when we picked it up. By far the worst car rental experience I’ve had

Cons: The car was supposed to be a premium car. It had more than 380.000 km on the clock. Defrost on back-window defect, Seat-heating defect, the rubber door seals was loose, windscreen wiper arm gave up, to much rust. Wish I could post Photos of the car on this form.

Pros: Do not rent with this agency - we had a roadside assistance situation and, while it’s marked as “covered”, ended up paying massively out of pocket. Currently pursuing reimbursement.

Pros: I was initially apprehensive choosing a rental a shuttle ride away from the airport (vs on site), but pickup was fast and easy with polite employees. Car pick-up was efficient and drop-off was completed in just minutes with a van standing by to get us to the airport. Nice and easy! The price of the car was significantly lower than any other company for the same vehicle.

Cons: There were a few minor issues with the vehicle: lights on the gear shifter were not working making things a bit more difficult at night, the GPS was very touchy and difficult to enter in destinations, the gps spoken directions did not work, the tires had just been changed to winter tires and the TPS had not been reset so there was a warning light on at all times, there were some scratches & small rusty areas from past incidents. But overall, the car was in okay condition, clean, & ran well
