Pros: Appalling - found another provider at the airport who provided a fantastic service - will never book with this provider ever again.

Cons: Payment price was increased without prior notice from EUR 129.98 to EUR 148.05. The attendant was unable to change the price although agreed this shouldn’t have happened. The vehicle hadn’t been cleaned inside and was very dirty. The vehicle only had half tank of fuel on pickup. I was told to return the vehicle with the same amount but although I returned the vehicle with more fuel I was charged GBP 127.25 fuel fine. Goldcar accredited GBP 75.40 but immediately withdrew GDP 76.00.

This all happened when I requested the police to clarify my position .

Ook andere klanten snauwde ze zo af. Na bijna 2u aanschuiven, kwam er een 3de medewerker en ging het iets sneller.

However, the same day we received an email of the original vehicle condition form, from “noreply@goldcar” saying that this form will be considered final if we had not reported any modifications. In fact we were not charged anything extra but receiving this mail is disturbing when one is on vacation

Cons: The server at the pick up desk was very pushy and tried to get me to add on extra insurance, which wasn't required as I had insurance trough Discover Cars. It would have been an additional £150 wasted as the car was checked at drop off and deemed in the same condition as when I picked it up. Luckily Discover Cars warned us when booking that this could be the case, so I am glad I heeded their advice!

Cons: ..her colleague and said, "it's him". She told me I was late, and she was under no obligation to keep my reservation. I told her I called and she said they got no message. She continued with this attitude saying I'm lucky she's giving me the car. At the end, when I received the invoice, I was charged an extra €52,69 for late check in. It was a terrible experience. Also, the child seat had no insert for infant (the baby is 3 months) so it was not very secure, and the seat was very dirty.

Once we reached the desk employee, she stated that she didn't know what I was talking about and when I showed my online reservation she said that doesn't count. Achteraf gehoord dat dit bij heel veel toeristen het geval was en bij de minste schade ze meteen 1100€ inhielden ookal had je een volledige verzekering zonder franchise … bedrog !

Pros: It was very easy to find the Goldcar office at Lanzarote Airport, it was the one with the queue snaking around the terminal. Having joined the said queue we waited for over 2 hours during which we moved forward approximately 3 metres and had seen only 3 people in front of us served. At this point we decided not to bother queuing any longer as our time on holiday was limited and we and the people around us estimated it would be a good 4 or 5 hours before we would be able to be served.

Pros: Picking up and dropping off the car was really easy. Both the agents I dealt with were helpful and although they tried to sell me the insurance it wasn’t a hard sell. Very easy process picking up and dropping off the car.

Cons: The car was in a poor condition. Bumps and scratches all over it. It was very difficult to log all of the scratches on video and I was worried that I would be blamed for one of the many areas of damage (which didn’t happen to their credit). There were also no wheel trims on any wheel!

Nevertheless that I included on my online reservation full insurance option, she has managed to convince me, that for only 30 eur more payment I will not have to put additional 1.100 eur credit on my credit card. After a long flight and after waiting in line for more that an hour, I was tired and I believed her assurance.

I insisted it should be taken in Euros and was told it would incur a 7% charge. Neither deposit where actually taken.

Pros: Fast and easy check-in

Cons: Everything else, apart from the fast check-in. Their personnel are unprofessional, you are getting hit with unplanned extra charges, car excess deposit is actually debited and then reimbursed - so I lost almost 100 GBP on 2 EUR/ GBP conversions. Horrible

Cons: They were very slow, tried to oversell, uninterested, and then charged us €150 for vacuuming (just sand from the beach) the car even though there is nothing in the contract about cleaning it.

Pros: Had my details from previous trip so did not take long to get the car at the airport

Cons: They have attempted to scam 150 quid off me. Currently going through the bank to get it back. Said I was smoking in the car....I DO NOT SMOKE!!!!!! Court proceedings will follow: already in contact with a solicitor r.e. breach of contract, fraud and defamation of character. Papers will be next. Good luck...."Autistic customer defrauded by rogue Spanish rental car company" is NOT going to look good splashed across the Tabloids....

Cons: Never ever will I use Goldcar again. You should remove them from your discovercarhire. Total rip off, they charged me full additional insurance three times the car hire prices since they did not accept any of my credit cards. And the car was old and full of scratches and bumps

Cons: Very poor customer service.Staff are unfriendly and rude. Added an upgrade charge that we didn’t ask for and the car they gave us was what we had ordered and not an upgrade anyway. One member of staff told us this extra charge was the airport tax we said it wasn’t as it clearly stated upgrade and airport tax was showing separately.The prices we were quoted when booking were more when we had to pay.They make you pay in ponds and give a really bad exchange rate. Never refunded the fuel charge!!

Cons: The queue to pick the car up. It's not worth the hour wait to pick up the car.

Pros: nothing rude and did not correspond to rates you had advertised

Cons: The staff member did not speak good English and was suggesting a 1000 euro deposit to get cheaper rate
