Pros: local Staff was very polite and helpfull. Administration was done efficiently.

Cons: General quality of the car was weak. The inspection of quality at start wasn’t possible because of darkness and no effective light on pick up zone. Drop off zone and office was closed. After waiting 20 min and a call we could drop the car at airport parking . Send sms to confirm these. Didn’t got any answers from office site .

Cons: The car was booked in my wifes name because she is under the age of 75 When we picked the car up i was put on as the main driver & i am over the age of 75 i queeried the extra charge & that is when i was told that it would be waived & there was no extra charge put on the invoice which i paid When we dropped the car off we were told that we would have to pay the additional charge because i had been put down as the main driver they took the money out of the insurance holding deposit

Being charged extra because you are over 75 is a rip off. Taking the excess from your account immediately is terrible. Will not be using again

Normally I would appriciate upgrade but this time we were just a couple, not whole family. It would be nice to communicate it ahead at least. Representant wasn't waiting for us at the airport as written in instructions, we had to call and wait for them.

The gentleman that felt with me was very nice whilst we was in Paphos - car was checked for damage on return, o took photos and a video of returned car and clearly no damage was on the car. Then the following morning I received several messages stating I’d damaged the car and how was I going to pay??? I immediately rang the car hire and sent evidence of the “no damaged car” to be told he saw the damage when I drove in the car park,

Pros: There are car rental companies out there that look for any excuse to grab the excess deposit. Thankfully this is not one of them. We were picked up at the airport as promised. The car was reliable and well serviced with excellent tyres and brakes. It was very clean inside and out with a full tank of petrol.

Cons: We wish they had stated at pickup (in the dark - so unable to inspect car) that there are minor marks, dents and scratches around the car that are known about and acceptable. They did say that they would email pictures the next day but they were all from a distance and none showed the various touch-ups, scratches, minor dents, paint peel and scratches which was a worry regarding excess deposit, so I spent a lot of time the next morning photographing these in case of dispute.

Pros: The first car we received was actually an upgrade from what we booked. Unfortunately, with a few days left in our rental period it developed an issue and while it was still working fine, a check engine light came on. They generously offered to either let us drive the car while taking responsibility themselves over any engine issues that might occur, or to directly change the car to a new one. We took the second option for peace of mind, and they made efforts to match our schedule to deliver it.

Cons: We saw no negatives. They had good services and were pleasant to work with. We even cracked a joke here and there :)

Pros: English proficiency and fast pickup from/to the airport. I also liked the fact the car was much older with over 80.000km driven and already had few dents and scratches. Made me more relaxed that i wouldn't be the first one making one.

Cons: On Discovery car website, when booking, was missing an information about GPS tracking of the car and the fact one could not drive it on a dirt roads. It wasn't a problem for us but partially limited where we could drive as there are many dirt roads in Cyprus. Also it must be noted the deposit is actually taken from your account rather that 'locked'.

Elephant actually remove it from your account and then re deposit it to your account, which actually cost us over £55 in foreign exchange fees. We tried to contact the company to arrange the deposit to be paid back in another way to reduce the cost to me in having to pay the foreign exchange fee again, so reducing my losses. They ignored my email and so ending up costing me again. THANKS!

Cons: Discovery cars states that you have to leave a €900 deposit when collecting the car, elephant Cars told me if I had booked direct I would only have had to leave a €350 deposit, which didn’t make any sense as they were the ones taking the money and refunded it. They do not put a block on the credit card for the deposit, instead they take the money off your card and refund it when you return the car without any damage. This means you then incur a credit card charge for conversion.

They then sent images (not time or date stamped so I have no idea when they were actually taken). The return however was a very different story. Mirrors were used to see underneath the car and every single aspect of the car investigated. They will find what they are looking for. Any small scratch = e150 fine (about the same as my 8 day rental).

Cons: First of all,when we dropped off the car,they have tried to blame us of driving the car off road and more specifically at Akamas. This never happened as we actually went to Famagusta and never been to Akamas! The agent was rude and was convinced that we went to Akamas so we asked that he shows us the GPS route. It turns out it wasn't us who went to Akamas but someone having the car before us. They tried to blame us for scratches below the car which we haven't done to the car and we had proof.

Pros: The best car hire company I have ever been to. No hidden costs, no extra charge for petrol, no nothing. I booked it, got picked up, paid the deposit and bye bye. Returning the car was the same, brought the car back, they checked it straight away in front of me send me the deposit back and drove me to the airport and bye bye again. The best car hire provider ever!!!
