Later on for some reason they had to exchange our car for another and wanted us to drive the car to them (20 Km away) thus interrupting our holiday. Same woman was rude and antagonistic on the phone re the car exchange. Second car was worse than the first.

When we were dropping the car off, the agent was rude and tried to charge us for some invisible scratches

Cons: Absolutely terrible car rental. First they lied to me by saying they would pick me up in 10 minutes at the airport. They took 45 minutes! And when I complained, the owner got upset and started giving me ridiculous excuses. He came to pick me up with the same car I was going to rent, obviously using the same petrol I would have to refill. They gave me probably the worst car in their fleet. Some many dents and damages that they hardly fit the drawing that you sign initially. Avoid.

The rental voucher issued by you said that the extra charge would only be applicable for people over 76-i.e 77 onwards. This needs clarification before we book with Discover and Autorent in future.

I would suggest that customers should be very careful to document car with video before driving off as these vehicles have numerous scratches and dents which are highly scrutinised on return. Cons: 1) Ordered Fabia, got Polo with explanation, that polo is bigger. Google says it is not more spacious in cabin..:) 2) south side only. Wasn't a problem for me, bet if anyone's reading this - probably would want to know. 3) paved roads only. "only on asphalt" :) Of course, I understand the reasons, but that makes it nervous even to park a car near sandy beach (if you read google reviews - this company can charge you for cleaning cabin from sand).

Pros: It was first time renting a car abroad and I was a bit nervous how it will be. Unfortunately I also had my first accident with the car and I broke the side mirror. I needed to pay extra 500eur for the damage. After I returned home in 1 or 2 days I got back my car deposit and then I filled the insurance request and got back the damage money.

Cons: The car I got was even better than the previous. Personal was respectful and welcoming. They gave me the documents and everything. Communication was easy.

Cons: there was confusion about whether my age-75-attracted additional costs of insurance. This entailed a lengthy conversation with your office for both myself and the Autorent manager. I was 75 in August 2025, but they tried to say I was therefore in my 76th year and that would cost more!! They eventually agreed that 75 was, indeed 75!!

Cons: Having received a confirmation that the rental price was euros127.79 I had to pay euros 225.30 to take the car.

We received a car with damaged wipers (it had rained), the brakes were squeaking. 4. When we returned the car, there was a girl who inspected the car and looked for defects in a rude way. We rent every year in Paphos and will not rent a car from this company.

Their prices were the cheapest but they obviously have ways of getting more money out of you on arrival when you’ve already paid a deposit and have no other option but to proceed with the extra payment which is just not right, never again!!!

Cons: Rental Agent: Unfortunately, this part of the experience was disappointing. The agent was quite rude and initially refused to accept my Mastercard for the deposit. It took a call to her manager to resolve the issue. As a returning customer, I found the interaction unnecessarily unpleasant, especially in front of other clients. Car Condition: The vehicle itself had issues. It wouldn’t lock at all, and there was a persistent dashboard warning about low tyre. Warning light stuck on the dashboard.

Cons: We arrived at 2 a.m. with two exhausted babies, but the owner refused to try our credit card and only after an hour of arguing did he test it, and it worked. The same issues happened with the second car, and we were charged an unnecessary extra fee. The child seats we paid for didn’t fit, he refused to help, the cars were dirty, and his attitude was unpleasant and impatient. On the way back to the airport, he drove while using his phone and ignored my request to stop.

Then they told us to walk and wait at a petrol station outside the airport which was super annoying as we were with a baby. In addition I rented a baby chair for babies between 0-12montgs and they gave me one for a toddler in terrible condition, i didn’t even use it and paid for it

Apart from an illegal tyre, split wiper blade, Yellowed plastic headlamps restricting light in unlit Cyprus motorways, Engine hesitating when driving, temperamental and hesitating engine with lack of power, temperamental boot lock, steering and suspension issues. I am also a Certified Automotive Engineer and a Member of the Institute of the Motor Industry and in 50 years of renting vehicles this is the worst example rented so far

Cons: Car horn failed during the hire, this was dangerous due to not being able to give a warning when necessary. Constant rumble from either a worn wheel bearing or worn drive shaft.

Cons: It took over 60 minutes for shuttle pick up to arrive, although we had completed online check in prior to pick up (website not great), the additional free driver had to complete lots of forms so collection took another 20 minutes. The fuel contract was full-to-full but the fuel tank was less than half full. Take photos of mileage and fuel gauges for return!

Pros: Phoned just after we landed to confirm pickup, we were at the office and had the car within 30 minutes of landing, drop off was super easy, they checked the car, and we were on our way to the airport in no time. Make sure to take photos of the fuel and around the car as soon as possible as they did double check fuel levels. Overall a great experience highly recommended.

Cons: The agent tried to extort €60 extra saying as my birthday was in April I was not 75 but over 75,I explained my dog was on the contract,he walked away and said go through the contract and come and see me when you have sorted it but you cannot have the car unless you pay the extra.After sifting through the contract I was able to show the excess senior driver charge did not apply until you reach 76 ,he reluctantly accepted this and no apology gave us a very poor vehicle.

Cons: I was sent a message from Autorent, while I was on the plane. It came through the next day. It took over a hour and a half to find them and get the car. The car was half full and they said it was nearly full. Both front tyres were illegal, windscreen was damaged in line of view. Wiper blade (driver side) had been damaged for a while, that’s why the screen was damaged. It rained on Friday 30-4-25, and I could not use the car; as visibility was compromised. Plus I was charged more than I should

We had to walk round for some time and ask 2 other rental companies for information. In the end we needed to ring to ask for a pick up. Recommend it states this on the booking information.

The car itself had many issues including no working interior light and the inability to engage reverse gear at times. I overlooked all these and thought Autorent would give me some goodwill when I returned the car with a mirror missing. Oh no, they stung me with a £150 charge .. complete rip-off!

We asked for a parcel shelf as we were going to store our luggage in the car for some of the trip. We were told that there wasn't one and booking got cancelled. Would ever use again

Pros: Very nice people. Schuttel from and to the airport. Easy paperwork. We had an automatik problem with our rented car, Georgina gave us another car immediately. That worked perfectly all week. By dropping off the car, we got our deposit back. We had a very good experience with AutoRent Cyprus!

Pros: Nice people, especially the first who was welcoming us after we left the airport, fast and professional document’s filling. Very positive attitude to guests, very polite and friendly. Car was clean and it was very important for us, since we really take car about our cars in Poland. Return of the car was also professional and in very friendly atmosphere. The person who was driving us to the airport was as friendly as the first man who we met. 5 stars ;)

I return the car like that because they told me the petrol stations around the airport are24/7 nad I checked 3 of them in 4am they all was close. 10 litres full by1.4 are 14 euro not 50

Cons: Very old and badly sounding car. Reception staff were grumpy and had arguments with other customers in front of me both on pickup and drop-off. Didn't really feel welcoming.

Pros: It was the best price we could find. We had a small car which was fine for all we needed. They collected us from the airport and the whole process was very easy. Staff were great and friendly.

Cons: car had cracked wing mirror etc which AutoRent didn't think was even an issue! They also try everything to add on "cleaning" costs which is unreasonable compared with other car providers in Cyprus. Wouldn't use or recommend again as an independent travel agent! Avoid!

Cons: When we artived they let us wait for 2.30 hours to give us the car and the car they gave us was demaged. On the second day it didn't start. They took a verly long tome to come and see whats wrong with the car. Then finally they changed the car but still the new car was not in good shape the windows would not go down. We paid for the gps and it did not work. The people at the office were very rude and didn't give us money back for the gps. Don't think about renting a car from autorent.

Cons: We had an issue with the original car that was given to use in Paphos. It was very very old and dated, the car didn’t start so we had to get a newer alternative

Rude people, we paid for a service which we didn’t get.we arrived at 1am to pick up the car at 3.30am was still there as all the cars had some Damage. when talking to them nicely they shout at you. We rented a gps for 70 euro and they gave us one that didn’t work. We told them and they said they dont have another one to replace it. We asked for the money back they didn’t give it back. My advice to anyone who is about to rent a car is to run away as fast as they can from that company.

Cons: When I came back with a query about the breaks, he drove it and said there was nothing wrong with it and says it was fine. But how he drove it, didn’t represent driving slowly in traffic and then trying to stop.

Cons: They gave me worst car citroen cactus,and when i said that I didnt order this car they said it is same class and they did not have another car with automatic transmission. The gear was scrapped off, so we could not see where is drive or reverse. During the checkout the employee was also very rude.

Pros: This was my first time with car rentals and i thought they will not scam me.

Cons: They charged my card with almost 400€ without any information after i left cyprus. When i asked about it, they said there were damages on the car after inspection... They give you junk cars and charge you with hidden damages.

Cons: I found finding the rental pick up van hard to find as I was told to wait at costa and there were 2 of them. Think better signage is needed. There was plenty for europecar enterprise ect. Also we paid for a baby seat which was dearer then child seat and it wasn't appropriate for our young baby

When we returned the car, despite not using it much, they tried to charge us for a scratch that was already there when we picked it up. He didn’t want us to check the vehicle condition , because someone else wanted picking up at the airports. He got angry and threatened to make us wait while he went and picked someone up. Card machine printer fouled up and he couldn’t sort it.

I took one look at it and said on no way am I driving that! Complete rubbish. Old. Tired. Dirty. we got taken back to the airport and I had to pay more than double the price to hire one from Avis because we hadn't booked it in advance! Never again.

Pros: The shuttle bus arrived at the airport immediately. The guy at rental desk at the time of drop off (29.4.2024 at 8pm) was extremely nice and had fun with my sons. It was a good end to the holiday.

Cons: Asked for a Fabia a particular one have had before, said no can't promise a particular car. On arrival asked again, said the one they have was going to be rented the next day and can't have it, even though the vehicle booked was a higher group. We didn't mind the cheaper swap but noway. Then on return/ drop off the Fabia was there in the yard, but the person who had hired it had put diesel in!!!!!!, now it didn't work. So that was justice for not letting us have it. Anyway excellent company.

Pros: The guys at Auto Rent are very friendly, courteous, and helpful. Pick up and drop off were good.

Cons: The quality of their rental stock leaves much to be desired. I had three different cars during the week and none of the three were 100%. #1 had a brake issue - severe vibration and rumbling coming down steep hills, #2 the 12v supply in the car didn't work for my GPS, #3 - which was an upgrade had a severe hesitation between gears, wipers squeaked and it needed new wiper blades. All three cars had more than 100k Km and were in a pretty poor condition.
