Pros: The provider's service (Dirent Car - Value Plus) was great and staff were friendly and supportive. The quality of car was the same as advertised offer. The process was super easy and quick in both DiscoverCars App and provider site.

Cons: Giving card details as 'deposit' in case of damage etc is normal and general practice....however...taking 1,000 euros from it and stating it will take 5 to 10 days to appear back on your card after 'safe' return of the car is NOT acceptable.

Cons: Our collection instructions stated to look for someone in arrivals with a board with our name. We couldn’t see anyone holding up our name but when we went outside - at Corfu airport- we eventually saw someone with a clipboard with the Dirent logo on it and when we asked them they consulted a list and had our name written on their list. We were happy to go outside to find the rep but as the instructions stated differently we were initially worried that there was no one there to meet us

Cons: The instructions weren’t correct when I landed at Corfu; on arrival I was asked to enter the office and then told to step outside while they served another customer. I was given an old car (which I thought was fine because of the price I paid); on departing the rental property I felt the cars quality was poor and the brakes were very loose.

Cons: The agent did not want to rent me the car because the country where my driving licence is from is not on a specific list she had. She did not want to help me at any time and had a condescending attitude. I cancelled and was immediately able to rent a car with another company - smoothly and without any problems. I have hired cars in the past in Europe and USA and this is the first time this has happened. All in all, an unnecessary experience when landing on a beautiful island like Corfu.

Cons: There were few cars at the picking up office which I have ordered & seams where in better condition & I have asked why, but they refused to change

Cons: Nothing with the Service, which was fantastic. The car near the hand wasn’t something I was expecting, and had a number of minor defects to the exterior bodywork that I would preferred to have not had on a car.

Cons: When checking your car, with a representative of Dirent marking any damage, they were marking damage the size of a pin head. I was nervous that we would be tricked into paying an excess for a mark we had missed, no bigger than a pin head, but this proved unfounded. The car was basic. It sounded terrible when you turned it on. I'm not a mechanic but it sounded like the clutch was on its way out.

Cons: On arrival at airport I had to take shuttle bus which was quick and not a problem. Down side was that I thought to find a bus with the name "Discover cars". This is not the case and I had to make a phone call to find out who the renter was in order to find the bus. Probably I didn't pay sufficient attention to small print but it may be helpful to others to state in bold print who the rental company is to facilitate transport to the car.
