Avance
Avance is a Greek car rental company based in Athens. The company has locations all across Greece, including in major cities and airports on the mainland, and all of the popular islands, including Paros, Naxos, Mykonos, Milos, Santorini, and Zakynthos. On these islands, the company has locations at the ports, so you can easily travel by ferry and pick up a car when you reach the island. This is very useful, as most rental companies (though, not all) don’t allow their vehicles to be taken onboard ferries, and in those cases when they do, the coverage doesn’t cover damage to the car that happens on the ferry. So renting a separate car on each island is ideal.
Avance has an extensive fleet of vehicles available. It has multiple different models of small cars (mini and economy), which are perfect for touring the islands and parking on the small streets in the towns on them. The company also has larger cars, SUVs, convertibles, luxury cars, Jeeps, pick-up trucks, and for those traveling in larger groups, vans. So no matter what the purpose of your trip, you’ll find a vehicle suitable for it from Avacne.
Keep in mind that if you are from a country that isn’t in the EU, you may be asked by Avance to show an IDP. This is the law in Greece. Drivers from the UK do not need an IDP, though. Avance also, like many rental companies, requires a credit card (in the name of the main drive) to leave the security deposit. Renters also have to be 23 years old to rent a vehicle from Avance.
