Avance in Athens (Downtown)

Pros: Picked up car with Brocken mirror windows dirty inside and general car in bad state, done over 90000 klm. Also tried to charcuterie me 30 euros for fuel because garage was closed but the car only took 45 euros to fill and I dropped it off between half and three quarters. Still had to pay 20 euros. Will never use again.

Pros: Helpful, on-time, repkied when we needed help during the trip.

Pros: Professional, courteous, respectful, honestly they were amazing. And trust me i've dealt with many car rentals, i've had very bad experiences, and Avance were perfect in every way.

Pros: The pick up at the centre office and road assistance agents were really effective and helpful. They spoke good English.

Cons: The car drop off agent at the airport barely spoke English. Most of the time, he didn't understand us and could only say a few words in English. He also wanted to prove that our damage to the bodywork for the car is not covered, although we had full coverage (or he simply didn't understand English). He was really kind and sweet, but, please, send him to some English course.

Pros: I was very happy with the service. I did take them a while to actually get my car where everybody would come in they had gotten their car and left. They explained to me that my car was in a different location in a garage because it was a new car with Athens it was the best rental car ever rented. It was a new model. It handled great it was just a complete luxury to have it for this trip I took. Especially with Greece’s windy roads. I actually ended up renting from them again when I went to Crete

Cons: Nothing really once the situation was explained to me I I sort of understood it and the truth of the matter is I did have a nice new vehicle. It was all good. Would recommend.

Cons: The fact that what I had ordered online, was nowhere near the car I was rented. About 14 years out of nowhere.

Cons: An old car 2016y.o. with 75000km mileage. The left headlight did and the windshield washer didn't not work. The car pick up took about half hour as they need to bring a car from the garage.

Pros: I have been Avance client for almost two years. Last couple of times I was not satisfied with the car provided and this time they acknowledged my complains and upgraded me with a really good car. Thank you for taking your clients reviews seriously. Looking forward to the next car rental.

Cons: I have been Avance client for almost two years. In two occasions I had a problem with the car, both times it was a Peugeot. This time the car Peugeot 301 was offered to me as the only car available (the reservation was for Auris or similar). Although the car had only passed 50000 km, I must say the car was a basic model, and had a very weak engine, made a lot of noise and the general aspect of the car is quite outdated. Not suitable for the class paid /expected.

Pros: They already had photos of the existing damage to the car on an iPad. The process of going over the car was very quick.

Cons: eceived a vehicle with an almost empty diesel tank and returned an almost full tank. That means I lost over €50. Not acceptable. I ordered a Peugeot 2008 car and received a RENAULT CAPTUR

Pros: Upon our return to Athens, I contacted Avance to ask to return the car to the airport location instead of the Syngrou location due the traffic we encountered due to the wildfires. It was such a relief that they accommodated us. We are extremely pleased with the service provided.

Cons: 1. At the Avance office they charged me 12 Euros per day for Full Damage Waiver insurance in spite of me paying for this when signing up with you. I will deeply appreciate you refunding these 60 Euros to me. 2. The car had a loose windshield seal that made us wondering about the strange noise and forced us to stop and try to temporarily fix it by hand

Pros: They had everything in order, once I found/determined location. We were a bit early and there are 4 rental companies at this address. I hadn't noticed the EXACT company on the Rental Voucher. Fortunately, they were the first company open, so I asked and yes the booking was theirs. The rep. also indicated where to find the company information. Please remember, this was all on a mobile phone, thus small screen.

Cons: Still tried to sell additional insurance. Car was 5 years old and mechanically, you could feel it in the transmission and suspension. Couldn't inspect the car fully, parked on main street, not safe to walk around.

Pros: Had a great experience with this company. Very efficient , The car was great and the people I dealt with were very professional

Cons: Guy who checked the car at drop off mistakenly marked wrong fuel amount (1/2 instead of 5/8 as I had returned). I went back and he checked with the pic he had taken of the odometer and realized he had indeed marked incorrectly on the paper ( which I only received copy via email 10 minutes later).

Pros: car was in great condition, almost new, really good specs (in terms of phone connectivity ,entertainment, driving assistance, fuel efficiency), effect staff and drop-off procedure.

Cons: Although the car itself as in great shape, car type (vw t-roc) doesn't match with the Renault Kadjar model we chose. We realise it can be a similar car, but we knew the kadjar would be comfortable enough for 5 persons, the t-roc was rather small to be comfortable for 3 passengers on the back on long stretches, especially since that had to accommodate part of the luggage as well, which din't fit in the trunk (it did fit in the kadjar of our friends when we tested).

Cons: I booked a compact category, got a station wagon. Was told it is the same category but that didn't make sense to me. Yet, I understand it was the Easter week and they looked a bit overwhelmed, yet remained polite and professional. For me it was a stressful having to drive a station wagon on the hilly narrow roads of Greek villages but I am experienced drive so all was ok. A novice driver may have found this a problem.

Cons: The member of staff who conducted the pick-up check missed quite a few scratches and dents in the car. The car was delivered with a dashboard indication switched on and we were told to ignore. First-aid kit is mandatory in every developed country, yet it was missing from the car during pick-up, so we had to request one. Last, a shirt was forgotten inside the car, but we didn’t realise until the next day when packing our bags. Agent on the phone told us it was never retrieved.

Pros: Quick pick up and drop off process. No hidden or extra charges- I just paid what I had agreed on with my online reservation.I had reserved a compact car but was provided with a sedan at no extra cost. The car was clean and ran well:

Cons: The gas tank is only 1/8 full to start off. You’re charged a service fee and also the refueling fee if you return the car with less gas, but of course no refund if you have more gas. Chances are, you’d probably return the car with more than 1/8 of the tank full.

Cons: The car had eclectic malfunction. The tire pressure and oil indicators were lit all the time. This caused me to constantly check the pressure and oil

Cons: The car had clearly been in several accidents and had not been repaired, the vehicle was old (2016 maybe), one of the headlights was burnt out, the vehicle felt unsafe over 115km/h (car would shake and vibrate) and had no power..ie acceleration was very slow with no torque. The key fob would not open the boot and the back seat had roll down windows ?!? For the cost of the rental, I could have purchased the same vehicle (Peugeot 301) in better condition and have money left over.
