Cons: We waited outside the airport with all pir luggage. I expected pick up from airport. We then had to push the trolley with all our luggage up the hill to the office. My husband has had 2 new ankles and this was extremely difficult

Pros: Good quality VW SUV with no problems.

Cons: Collected with virtually empty petrol tank. Apparently the car had a scratch on the rear bumper on return. Charged me 800 euros for a 100 euro job. I guess thats where they make their money!!! I wouldnt use them again and you might want to bear that in mind when recommending a car hire company. I therefore need to make a claim? Regards Richard Hull

Cons: No information was given to us, we were told to wait then I had to sign 3 copies of paperwork in Greek with NO ENGLISH version .... what the hell type of scam is that????

Pros: A very smooth experience. The staff were really genuine, and I felt I could trust them completely. I would definitely recommend.

Cons: - it was not so easy to find them, the office is more than 100 m away, there was no instructions, where exactly the office is - the car was a little "used", "amortized", but anyway, it did the job just fine

Cons: Car not as advertised, booked a VW up and got a very old Fiat panda. Took a €800 deposit on credit card even though I paid for full insurance extra ??

Cons: Info on DiscoverCars website says you can take the car on a ferry to another island. I also confirmed with an email to Avance Greece customer support. They said it only didn't cover the actual ferry journey. On arrival at airport office, which is not an easy walk up the hill, the office insisted that the email was incorrect. They said if I take the car to another island it is entirely at your own risk, as you are not covered at all by the insurance and was the reason I chose Avance.

Pros: English speaking and very helpful when we wanted to add my son 2 days later

Pros: It was a friendly straightforward collection process with no fuss and no hard sell. Car generally was in good condition but needed a proper clean.

Cons: Off airport office was not easy to find. Thankfully Google maps helped. Car had high km and was not very clean and tidy. Body wash was poor, windows were dirty inside and out and windscreen washers did not work.

Pros: Do not recommend. Cheap cars which would not pass MOT. You pay for a small car as that's all you need but you get given the cars in the worst condition. If you want a car that doesn't feel like the gearbox will fall out then pay for the 'bigger' car.

Cons: Unknown to me, they charged me the full excess fee (700 euros) on Day 1, which I have never experienced before. Apparently, this is a not uncommon new practice for hires over 12 days. This will have cost me about an extra 40 euros in credit card fees. Assuming that this was in the small print, this was not explained to me when I hired the car. Although possibly legal, this is a sharp practice to gain money, albeit for a short period, from customers. I will not be using Avance again.

Pros: Good service. I had an issue the first car they gave me in that it was more than 10 years old and one on the tyres was very worn. I asked to change the vehicle and after a brief discussion they spoke to the manager and changed the vehicle for a newer car.

Pros: Even though our flight was delayed there was no problem collecting the car and after a call from the plane I was told that they would wait for me despite the possibility of it being after closing time.

Cons: We returned the car with the 2 small scratches shown in picture below. They charged us 543.28 Eur for that, which to them it was not outrageously high a repair cost. The lengthy discussion ended up with the office manager screaming at my husband, saying they had actually made him a favor allowing him to use a debit card and applying a 30% discount on the repair cost. Ie, we should even be grateful! So, if anyone rents from these guys, good luck! For us, it was the first and last time.

Pros: speedy processing of hiring the car

Cons: Location instructions unclear and NOT 100m from airport. No pickup from arrivals so had to walk up fairly steep hill with baggage in hot sun . Being over 75 not a good start

Pros: Car was almost brand new and gave me a free upgrade. Rental agents were very polite and provided an excellent service. I was concerned about that I read some car rentals tend to try to charge you for anything they can find you when you return the car but not Advance, check-out with them was quick and smooth with no additional charges at all (obviously I returned the car in same conditions as rented).

Cons: The office was just up the hill which can feel far when carrying luggage from the airport

Cons: Had to wait for confirmation email until the following day after booking car online. Car given to me was very old. My credit card was actually charged full deposit amount rather than just being blocked for that amount. Rental office is about 10 min walk up the hill from airport terminal
