We didn't expect to see so many gravel roads in Iceland. An advanced warning from the agent would've been good. Also since it was a diesel car we had a warning light about adding AdBlue which we didn't expect to see and didn't know what to do with that.

Definitely need a rental car to drive to the different amazing location. You have better control over the time spent on the spots than through excursions, and cheaper for sure.

Be very clear that the location you are staying is accessible in a 2 wheel drive 9 seater. FYI, any kind of steep road or drive combined with snow means such a vehicle isnt suitable....a 4x4 is needed.

Definitely get directions to drop off vehicle. We had a bit of a hard time finding agency because it would not show up on our google maps.
We didn't have a hard time driving or finding parking space in Reykjavic or any of the places we visited
