Cons: The car ran rough, requiring too much power to pull away, and sounding rough. Putting into third gear always produced a noise, suggesting the synchromesh was damaged. The tyre pressure warning came on, I checked the pressures and they were fine, but I wasn't able to reset it. The roughness and 3rd gear problem should have been picked up before the car was rented to me - this car was not acceptable as a rental.

Pros: Quick and straightforward booking, collection and drop off.

Cons: Nothing bad about the service itself but the car was pretty dirty, covered in scratches and dents, had a very loose clutch and the rear right suspension sounded like it had something rattling around. However, it didn’t let me down in any way and I just had to adapt my driving to the slip in the clutch.

Then they said they had an alternative and that was filthy, as in proper filthy on the outside. So then they did not have a clean SUV for me. So I had to wait for them to clean one of the cars whilst I waited.

Upon arrival at the airport, we did get a little run around from the service desk who, instead of telling us to hop on the shuttle, directed us to the garage and it took us some time to realize that we weren't where we needed to be and we had to return to the desk to get better directions. Otherwise, everyone was great.

Cons: Extremely disappointed with the Dublin branch of Budget . Firstly I booked Economy Volkswagen Polo or similar, ECMN/ECMN but I was tried to be given a Suzuki swift with 15 defects. The car was a small car and not the size I had booked. It was a blatant move to get the car moved off the Dublin premises to be dropped off to Knock. After using Budget numerous times already this year I would like to think I deserved some minimum respect. I refused the car and the correct car was swapped over.

Pros: The total price online was €418.92, unfortunately when we arrived at the Dublin desk at Budget, not having sufficient availability on the €2000 credit card, so they charged us a total of €797.21. I had already paid a deposit online on the Discovercars website of €139.44 but Budget did not deduct this from my total final balance. As a result, the total amount I had to pay came to €936.65. I find this exaggerated figure absolutely unacceptable, Budget speculates on customers' difficulties.

The M50 toll set up is abysmal, but this is probably the same for all companies. You have to pay the toll totally blind of know what you owe!

However, at drop-off we realized this was wrong and we had to go all round the houses to get to the correct location to leave the car.

We had to sit around because they didn’t have the car they were planning on giving us ready. After finally complaining they gave us a different car (the lot was full of available cars). The car we got was dented and scratched all over. You don’t do a spot check with staff so you just have to document a bunch on your own prior! Just so unorganized!

I then had to queue up at the rental office for another 10mins. Had car issues 1st car fuel was not full and had tyre warning on dash and 2nd car was only half a tank!

And this was before all the technical issues started during the trip - various lights flashing (to check engine, brakes, etc.)

Cons: My cost was more than double what it was to be through Discover cars. They were misleading and gave me the run around when I brought it up on return refusing to honor the discover card agreement.

Pros: The service from the point in airport of directions for vehicle pick-up shuttle all the way through explaining to us the process of rental charges, use of the vehicle, return, checking out & shuttle return to airport was perfect!

Cons: The car provided was of very poor quality and when I raised my concerns at the time of pick up I was told it was safe and dismissed. I did not feel happy driving the car at any point. Tires warn at the edges on a day of heavy rain and an intermittent rattling sound. Significant damage that required a lot of photos to record.

Cons: The headlights didn’t work and I was also promised a full tank when it had under half. I don’t know how the car passed the check before I collected it

Pros: The lady at the desk when dropping off the car was immediately appologetic when I pointed out that I did not get the correct car - yet was told it was the same category as I had ordered when I picked it up. She apologised and gave me some money off.

Cons: The queues were enormous - I found the girl at the desk rather rude when I questioned her about the bill. I also told her that I had ordered an Open Corsa and that the Picanto in my opinion was from a smaller category and not what I had paid for. She disputed this and because it was so busy and a I had been waiting so long I accepted it. I then questioned it on returning the car and found out that I had been correct and it was a smaller catergory that I had paid for.

Cons: at the airport table there were no customers but they told us to go to the rental center where instead there were DOZENS of customers in the queue waiting for more than an hour, BAD SERVICE BAD vehicle tyres; year 2023 car of 2016 tires of 2016 old and worn, one succumbed to consumption 20km from the airport, had we been on the motorway it would have been VERY dangerous

Cons: Non hanno accettato l'assicurazione base + la copertura totale (rimborso franchigia) effettuato con Discovercars, dicendo che la carta di credito non accettava l'addebito della franchigia di 2000e. Non ci è mai capitato questo problema con altre compagnie, nemmeno con + di 2500e di franchigia. Abbiamo dovuto stipulare un'assicurazione aggiuntiva andando a pagare il doppio. Inoltre l'auto non aveva nemmeno l'autoradio ne la possibilità di collegare lo smartphone

Cons: never hired a Skoda Fabia before let alone one with 83000 kms. passenger window did not open rear passenger nearside door did not open from inside - no visible child lock. an unwelcome half packet of tampons discovered in the glove box. the car was on its last legs and really was not fit to hire out. one would think that for the money they would try a bit harder. the tyre pressure light kept flickering on so first thing after pick up at 10pm wasted 2 euro at the air pump as it made no difference
