Pros: The actual rental cost was astronomically higher because the agent told me that I has to accept the premium insurance even though we paid for insurance when the vehicle was booked online. I understand we incurred an additional cost for a vehicle upgrade, however; I did not understand why I was forced to accept the premium insurance.

Cons: After I returned the car in Dublin City Center I spoke with a Europcar manger concerning the initial payment made through DiscoverCars. She was very unprofessional and spoke to me as if I were a child. I am a 61 year old retired US Naval Officer that has traveled the world and rented vehicles in numerous countries. Based on this interaction I will never again rent a vehicle from Europcar and will advise others not to as well.

Pros: Danno non al parabrezza non segnalato da Europcar al momento del checkout. Al check-in dell' auto la foto fatta al danno dopo poche ore dal ritiro è stata accettata e nessun costo mi è stato addebitato.

Cons: La prenotazione l'ho fatta tramite Driverscar e quanto stabilito risultava precisamente ad Europcar, ad esclusione dell'assicurazione aggiuntiva per coprire la franchigia di 1500€ applicata da Europcar in caso di eventuali danni. Per 5€ al giorno in più ho switchato da benzina a diesel e da una 1000 a una 1500 cm3. Non mi è stata dato subito un documento di checkout. L'ho dovuto richiedere dopo 2 giorni dopo la consegna auto al desk dell'aeroporto.

Free cancellation with a full refund up to 48 hours before your pick-up time, Unlimited mileage, Collision Damage Waiver (deductible: € 1800.00), Theft Protection, Third Party Liability (TPL), Vehicle registration fee, Free modifications.
Rate excludes
The following mandatory surcharge(s) will be applied: Premium Location surcharge.
An E-toll charge will apply; personal consumption will be charged separately at the end of the rental period.
Driver requirements
Minimum rental age is 22 years.
A young driver fee applies to drivers under the age of 26.

There is no maximum age.
A Senior driver fee is not applied.

The driver license must have been issued by authorized authorities at least 2 year(s) before the date of the commencement of the rental.

UK customers must bring their DVLA check code along with their photo ID. This check code can be obtained from the DVLA website.
UK residents that hold a non-UK licence may drive in the UK for up to 12 months from the time they become a resident. After 12 months, the overseas licence will be deemed illegal in the UK and it must be exchanged for the UK equivalent.
In addition to the regular driver license, an International Driving Permit is also mandatory if the driver license is written in a language other than that of the renting country and/or in characters that cannot be read in the renting country.
Please note that the International Driving Permit is valid only if it is accompanied by a regular driver's license, is issued by an official authority or government-authorized organization, and is in physical (not digital) form.
Residents of the following country(ies): United Kingdom are required to present the following document(s): passport, valid driver license, credit card on a main drivers name, booking voucher, additional ID showing home address (e.g. Utility bill) in order to pick up the car.

Residents of the following country(ies): Non-UK are required to present the following document(s): passport, valid driver license, credit card on a main drivers name, booking voucher, additional ID showing home address (e.g. Utility bill), proof of entry/exit into/out of the country in order to pick up the car.
Deposit and deductible policy



If the customer takes the following extra equipment: GPS Navigation system, Child seat (2-4 years of age), Booster seat (4-10 years of age), then an additional amount of deposit will be held on their credit card.
Cross-border policy
Cross border rentals are allowed only upon previous request.
Additional charges will be applied in case the car is crossing state or region borders.

Crossing country borders is allowed to the following countries: Northern Ireland.
crossing country borders is forbidden for certain car groups. Details are available from the car rental company's reservation office.
In the event that Cross Border & Territorial Restrictions are violated, all protections lose their validity.
Optional extras and services
Available special equipment: Baby seat (up to 1 year of age), Child seat (2-4 years of age), Booster seat (4-10 years of age).
Prices for extras are shown on the booking page.

Adding additional drivers is allowed.
There is an additional charge for each driver.
Underage additional drivers are subject to both Young Driver and Additional Driver fees.
When picking up the vehicle, all drivers must be present and must provide valid documentation.

Delivery/Collection service is available within city limits. Additional charges will be applied, depending on the distance.
Fuel policy
The vehicle is provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with the same amount in order to avoid additional charges.
Electric vehicles must be returned with the same battery charge they had when picked up to avoid additional charges (on a per kWh basis). An additional admin fee will be charged if a vehicle is returned with less than 10 % battery charge remaining.
Additional information
Winter tires are not mandatory in Ireland.
Snow chains are allowed in icy/snowy conditions.
Rental period
The maximum rental period per agreement is 28 days.
If the renter would like to extend the rental period, renter should return to the car hire office at the end of the rental period to sign a new agreement.
Business hours
Service outside of business hours is available by request and for an additional charge.
Period of time, during regular working hours, when the car is still guaranteed for the customer, if the customer is late for pick up (the grace period) is 29 minutes.
