Acarent (formally Autocenteravola Ltd) is an Italian car rental company headquartered in Syracuse on the island of Sicily. The company was founded in 2013 in the same location. It operates in Sicily and the rest of Italy along with Greece, Bulgaria, Morocco, Malta, and Albania.
Acarent operates a franchise business model. It doesn’t own any of the cars or locations that it operates in, but instead provides the brand name and technological expertise to independent companies. All of the franchisees together have a fleet of more than 5,000 vehicles. Though the locations are operated by different companies, Acarent ensures that the customer service and quality of vehicles they provide are up to its high standards. Acarent is highly rated in Italy. This is evidenced by the fact that the company has won our Excellent Car Rental Service award at Bari Airport.
The policies of Acarent vary by country due to different companies operating the brand in each country. In Italy, you have to be at least 19 years old to rent a car from the company. You’ll also need a credit card, as although the company accepts debit cards for payments, it requires a credit card for the security deposit. Finally, doesn’t allow its vehicles to leave the mainland or the island where it was rented (for example, if you pick up the vehicle in Sicily, you aren’t allowed to take it to the mainland.
