Top Rent A Car at Sofia Airport

Pros: The agents at the drop-off in Varna have been very helpful.

Cons: The pickup was rather complicated. You first need to go to the counter at the airport, then wait for a shuttle to pick you up, etc. Also, one-way rental was way too expensive even if it was still in the same country (Start: Sofia, drop-off: Varna)

Pros: Quick, efficient, and friendly service. Good shuttle service to/from terminal.

Cons: When picking up the car, the agent tried to sell me their own insurance too aggressively, despite that CDW + full protection from discovercars.

Cons: The shuttle service on load time is terrible I had to wait more then 30 minutes I took a cab... also as I wrote they charge 32 euros for returning the car at night. I don't see a reason why. And also it is,written in the very small letters and not clear..

Cons: New but body-damaged vehicle. Not the best experience. Staff don't really bother when trying to explain about another problem. Disappointing experience overall.

Cons: Once representatives realised I had no intention of paying for their insurance - they invented a contract clause to bring the car washed (unless I pay a 18EUR fee). None of that was presented when booking via DiscoverCars so they mush be hiding it well. I will only use them again when I develop sudden need to wash somebody else's car.

Cons: I had on my booking to pick the car from the airport but in there they sent me to the head office about 10 minute away.

Cons: We booked through a partner with insurance and at pick up they said the insurance wasn't good, we needed another one. We did not take it, but they kept on instisting we needed to pay for this and for that. That's how it often goes with car rental companies, but still very annoying as their mood also changes from kind to not so nice anymore if you do not accept all the things they want you to pay for.

The agent pushed me to buy addditional services and didnt let me go until i agreed. i paid 18 euro for cleaning, beacause he said if i will not return the car after washing, perfectly clean i will be fined. neverheard of that. annoying.

Cons: Lengthy pick-up and drop-off. When you are booking the car, it says in-airport but it’s not. TopCar has a kiosk at the airport but when I went there they told me. Your reservation is at our main office. We will call for shuttle, it took over 30 min to get to the rental location. The same situation when dropping off. The cars are literally a moving billboard. I don’t mind advertising but these cars are a bit much.

Cons: I arrived at the airport in Sofia at 3am with a tired family… Top Rent a Car did not answer the phone, send a shuttle, or provide instructions so I paid for a car/day that I didn’t get to use.

Pros: Friendly staff, quick and efficient service, really pleased with the car I got and the entire process from start to finish was straigtforward. Couldn't ask for a better value for money!

Cons: My only remark would be that on arrival the head office was closed (it was around noon time) so I had to call the company and arrange where to wait for the van, which was somewhat unclear, however all worked out okay, the staff were quick to respond to my query and helpful.

Cons: Took 2 hours from calling office for airport pick up, to being given the keys. Only one member of staff at desk who took 20 minutes to serve each customer. Car had clearly not been checked pre hire. Nail in tyre meant I ended up replacing it at my cost and I strongly suspect it was there when I collected the car (pressure indicator light came on after 60km but pressure was ok, but next morning it went flat). No water in washer bottle. Tyre pressure indicator regulator came on after reset!

Pros: Servise is ok, overall. In Sofia you have to wait to transfer to get to the Top Rent a Car office. We were group of people with a luggage. They said that we can not come to the office together. As there is no space in the van. a little bit long time took to pick a car and then we needed to come back to the airport to pick the rest of our luggage and group.

We called to the company they said to leave a key at some box, no box was there. Then they said that we need to go the airport with the car and someone will be there... then they send someone... Aliluya! He arrived and started to check cars (we had 2), then he started to check it. And he said that he can not take us to the airport. Bottom line - we arrived at 8:15 to desk

Cons: The condition of the car was not good - half of the front bumper was missing, but the main concern was that the spare tyre was completely flat and had a big hole in the side of it. We only found this out as we had to change the tyre due to a puncture. Top Rent a Car were very unhelpful in sorting this out and we wasted a day of our holiday getting it sorted out. The staff at one of the Top Rent a Car offices were shocked that we had been given a car in this condition.
