They also provided us with a qwerky car that had very a very specific starting sequence to get it past standby mode, which was totally foreign to us. It also went into standby if you idled too long. Twice we were stranded mid-street when the car would not engage in drive. Once we read the manual and learned to correct sequence we had no further issues.

Pros: The rental agents at picking up and dropping off have been very kind and respectful. Sometimes you get pushy ones that have no other interest than upsell you new things, it wasn't the case, they showed genuine interest in making sure our car was in top shape for the trip and easy to drop off at the end of it.

Cons: A couple of weeks after returning the car, we were charged for a dent that was already there at pickup. The communication with SIXT went smoothly and the charge was reimbursed immediately, however this created quite some effort on our side and it only worked out as we could prove via photos taken at pick-up that we didn't cause the dent.

Cons: Even though I know I had purchased full insurance coverage through Discover cars, I ended up buying Sixts coverage anyway. I didn’t want to have to do the hassle of claim reimbursement through Discover. Driving in Ireland was very difficult and I wanted the peace of mind of having the extra coverage. Had I been in any other country where one drives on the right side of the road, I would have not taken Sixts insurance.

Pros: I was in interaction with 4 different people - customer support, registration check-in, handover person 1, handover person 2. All of them were kind and very helpful and nice. The customer-service via email was very quick and very helpful, I give them the best rank. The car was in good condition, including its own GPS integrated. Car was to new for my phone, it had only USB 3 output, and contactless charging :D.
Cons: It is not that I did not like, I guess it is not fully their fault. The rented car did not have the first aid and triangle, I reported that and they brought me one right away. The car did not have a reserve wheel, it is a new practice, that you shall always call for support from the hotline. It is fine, only the pickup paper included that there should be a reserve wheel. We clarified it, so not a problem. Last, I had incorrect handover place in my invoice, again solved quickly by support.

Pros: Quite fast, considering that we arrived a bit earlier we waited about 15 minutes, and the car has been just cleaned.
Cons: Our agent Joe was not very nice: I'm confident in English but I had problems with his lazy and unclear speaking. Also, the key had a little issue (sheathing button a bit stuck) and he kind of made fun of it. Another agent looked for a substitute key but couldn't find (quite absurd) so he simply suggested us to never sheathe it. Lastly, the car was working fine but had a few minor issues, like a missing part of a front grille and a damaged rim, so we had to take photos and videos carefully.

Cons: I ordered a car seat for my child they handed it to me at the desk and I was made to walk to the car rental area carrying a very large car seat all my luggage and my 6 month old son. On arrival I found I didn’t know how to fit this type of car seat, I asked a member of staff to help and they told me they where not allowed too a considerable amount of time with a stressed out child and a stressed out me trying to fit this damned car seat that I expected would of been put in the vehicle!

Cons: I booked a VW Tiguan or similar. At the desk they stated they were upgrading us and I ended up with a Darcia Jogger. The connectivity was average and constantly dropping out and overall feel of the vehicle was rubbish. The only upgrade was that it was 7 seats which was something I didn’t need. I also did not see one Tiguan in their lot. If they are going to advertise it they should have it and the “or similar” should be similar in quality.

Cons: One thing we would suggest and we think it was due to Brexit issues? Back in 2016 we were able to drive down from Donegal via A5 making a quick drive to Dublin. This time we could not do that, and did not understand the sticker on the dash. Maybe explain to customers that if they go up north, they can't get on A5 unless they pay a fee and perhaps different insurance? Anyway, we had to back track over to Sligo and then across. It was worth it of course. But also, we were clueless on that part.

The one major problem I had was installing the car seat, while I do understand that they can’t install them it would be so helpful to have someone point out exactly how they work. When you are traveling solo with a child and trying to install a seat you’ve never laid eyes on it is probably the most irritating and frustrating thing

I paid for full coverage only to be told I would have to pay $2,000. To Sixt if anything happened to the car. I am not pleased about this and when renting a car next year in the UK will be rethinking how I do this.
