Vehicle wasn’t clean and tyres were flat (<20psi) resulting in a warning light and the need for me to pull into a servo to Pump up tyres. Surely a tyre check should be a safety check before a vehicle is hired out to a client. I would be unlikely to use Simba or DiscoverCars again.

I feel any pre existing ‘damage’ to vehicle should be registered and shred on check in. I’d suggest taking lots of photos to protect yourself against any claims for damage.

Cons: The airport shuttle service took 30-45mins to arrive, then we waited another 20-30mins to be served at a counter. The car was full of cosmetic dents, scratches and makeshift patchwork. The wheel alignment was not done so the car keeps veering to the left, the ADAS is faulty (giving wrong alerts), the cruise control doesnt work down slopes (exceeding the set speed by 20+) and worst of all, the cabin filter was disgusting (thick black in colour with tons of leaves) that made 3 of us really sick.

Cons: The agent at Simba was trying up sell inurance etc. and very picky when returning car. The car had over 70,000 km’s on it and many locations with small body damages including the front passenger wheel which had much damage on it and found one more tiny scratch that he claimed I did. Made up an incident report on this issue which I did not agree with. Not sure that is going to go, weather I am going to have That wheel with that many kilometers is as far as I am concerned is normal where an tear.

Pros: The agent at simba was helpful but again it was not made clear with the extra costs involved. So I wouldn’t use them again. The car also had to be filled up using ultra premium fuel, which again added to the extra costs and was difficult to find garages that sold the ultra premium, leading to frustrations. Dropping the car off - agent tried to say a scuff mark was us but it was actually already on the documentation from before we collected the car.

Cons: The agent was helpful but the car its self (MG3) sounded like it had an internal problem every time you revved the engine or went up hill. This caused concern as if there was an underlying problem Simba would make you pay (even with the full cover already paid for) and then you would have to try and claim it back through discover cars. Again, causing frustrations and worry.

Cons: Not happy with discovercars insurance, so had to double pay insurance.

Cons: The car was filthy with birds droppings. They spayed when requested but the droppings were still there. The rear camera blacked out when connected to the mobile.

They heavily pressured and tried to get me to change my car insurance I got through DiscoverCars website to their insurance which was in fact more expensive. The ease of finding rating is due to the GPS I hired through them was not able to find their address on the way back and the on the outward journey the person who installed it typed in the wrong address sending me in the totally wrong direction!

Then locked the car overnight. In the morning it would not start with warning lights. After 2 days I was given the number for the engineer. The battery was dead as they had not told us when picking up that the model of the car always has to be locked or the battery drains. Awful service not to tell us this.

Also, their liability policy is fishy, saying they deduct the full deposit (in my case $5000 AUD) in any case of damage, even if it's much lower than the actual repair cost, and then return the difference (any rental agreement I've ever had before only deducted the damage amount, not the entire deposit)

Pros: The agent tried to sell us extra insurance to cover the excess cost quotes as $6000 and then costs for the time the car is off the road...quotes as $30 per day. This was on top of the full liability insurance taken through discover cars. I was told the $6000 excess would be taken off my credit card on top of the deposit made. The agent was emphatic I needed to take this insurance.

Cons: The car we rented was a seven seater but two if the seats were pull up ones in the back. It was very cramped for my teenage boys to fit. We panicked a bit at the pick up as we only just managed to fit the luggage in and that was because there was six of us. Seven adults and their luggage would never fit. It should be advertised as a 5 seater for adults and two seater for children. The two that had to sit in the back were very squished up and uncomfortable on long journeys.

I was hesitant getting the shuttle from the airport thinking it would be more inconvenient but I was wrong, it was actually easier especially if you have luggage. The shuttle team were extremely helpful loading our luggage, on arrival our driver even loaded our bags into our hire car for us. This was above and beyond my expectations. The car was immaculate.

Pros: New car and great to drive

Pros: The car was brand new, the rental process was efficient and price was reasonable.

Cons: Off airport location so need to allow extra time to get shuttle bus to and from airport to where car is located. Also the way the $500 bond is charged but not refunded promptly after car is returned is a bit rich. I am still waiting for the refund 4 days later. Admittedly, the agreement did say it will take up to 3 weeks to refund the deposit....but why 3 weeks, they took the payment instantly, surely in this day and age the refund can be returned just as quick.

Pros: Friendly, helpful

Pros: We actually got a brand new car.

Cons: They were clear with their instructions easy to get it done and the only thing is finding petrol station close to fill up
