EastCoast Car Rentals at Brisbane Airport

Pros: Car was in excellent condition & very clean.

Cons: Terribly rude staff member (Matt) when we returned car. He made getting to the airport to catch our plane on time very stressful when we had phoned & spoken to East Coast rentals the previous day and they’d assured us if we arrived at 6.55am we could leave on a 7am shuttle. Matt would not commit to departing before 7.15am and didn’t want hear that another employee that had assured us we could. It was a very stressful end to our amazing holiday, with added unexpected cost we hadn’t budgeted for.

Cons: Following warning light the morning after pick up, we inflated tyres. The tyre pressures varied significantly from 26 psi in one up to 36 psi in another, 28th I in another. Not one was at the recommended psi of 31. It was disappointed ng to discover that the tyre pressures had not been checked before car released to us. In the event, one of the tyres had a slow puncture which required topping up each day.

Pros: We were lucky a service agent was available at the time of reaching the office. 5 minutes later w couple were seen queuing up waiting in line for next counter agent to serve them who was chatting with a customer who was already done with her queries.

Cons: Should have more Counter staff tending to customers coming in to pick up their cars. However the staff tending to the cars allotment were efficient.

Pros: Everything was explained clearly and felt as though all information provided was helpful and true

Cons: Paid full coverage twice. Discover full coverage is useless.

Cons: Very high cost of insurance to prevent payment of $4400 in the evnt of damage to the vehicle (around $1000). As a result i did not take our the cover and fortunately there was no damage to the car.

Cons: The collection process was so unpleasant that I felt anxious about returning the car.

Pros: They were easy to deal with efficient and friendly and I would definitely recommend them to anyone. That also extends it too the returns team as well airport shuttle was great got to our plane with heaps of time to spare.

Cons: I didn't like having to wait for the car when the car was booked 1 week prior. Also the windows were wet when driving away & once the windows dried I had poor visibility .

Cons: La somme payé au départ pour la réservation soit 40 % du montant n’est pas déductible du prix de la location. Il n’est pas précisé que si nous voulions une assurance le prix serait plus cher, il est inscrit un prix avec assurance mais en arrivant le prix est doublé. Une surprise! Nous avions pris avec l’assurance tout de même. « All Its good » quand le Check up a été fait mais un paiement sur notre compte bancaire est en court. Alors que nous avions aussi l’assurance.

Cons: We printed our the voucher for renting the car (including additional full insurence, second driver, baby seat ) , when we showed the voucher, the staff there didn’t care about the items on the voucher at all. They only knew that we had booked the car and the date, didn't even give us the additional drivers and baby seats that we've already paid for, he gave us after we reminded him .

Cons: Pleasant service when we picked the car up but the opposite when we dropped it off. We got asked for the keys, no hello and then told to go stand over at the airport bus. We had to load our bags into the bus and unload them at the airport. The car was not fully fuelled (6/8) but I did raise this immediately.

Cons: The system they have of emailing photos of existing damage is hard to locate on the rented vehicle by trying to down load these photos to a mobile phone and and they gave no help of locating so you can't find if they have missed any existing damage so you maybe liable for any existing damage. Ended up just hoping all existing damage was on the photos otherwise I would have spent ages trying to locate the damages. not a good system. They need to be able to locate and pinpoint the photos.

Cons: There is about 1-hour window of 'grace' around the pickup time, after which your car can be let to another party & you'll lose your booking - according to the T&C's, or so I was told when I finally managed to find someone to speak to. On the bright side, after speaking to a person, who spoke to someone else, they confirmed that they would hold our car for the extra two hours we needed. Less shiny was the $80 Uber bill for my wife to race out of work to collect the car for fear of losing it.

Cons: The young lady at the counter was rude. Even though I purchased the full coverage she told me I was cheated by the company I booked online and then tried to sell me another cover. She scared me of an accident even before I even got the car!!! Not the best was to welcome someone to the country.
