Record-go at Barcelona Airport

Pros: Nothing, just a disaster from start to finish of collecting the car. Recordgo went out of their way to charge us for everything possible. They committed via email to a free car seat then charged me £120 for it. They at no point informed me cross boarder charges would apply but again sacked another £160 onto the bill. We are in debt as a result of this awful experience. The customer service was appalling! The car condition was absolutely horrendous, it was smashed in, we were embarrassed!

Agent at pickup was rude and did not have time to inspect the car nor to talk to the DiscoverCars service, nor to sign the damage list that I've updated. There was no tire rapair kit not spare tire despite it was listed. Scammers!

Cons: Horrible customer service, they have re-rented the vehicle that contains my spouse’s wallet twice since “promising” to check under the front seat for it. They would not contact the renter who rented the car 20 minutes after we returned it o that we could ask them to look under the seat.

Cons: When I got to the rental company to pick up the car at the airport, it turned out that the reserved economy class car was not avaible. Only higher class cars were avaible. Since there were five of us, a cheaper 4-seater car was out of the question. I was forced to rent a more expensive car, which cost me 10 eur more for each day of rental. Since the reserved car was not avaible due to the fault of the rental company, a larger car should have been made avaible at the price of the reserved car

Cons: The pickup took over an hour of waiting. The process itself included filling out a form with a pen - with information already provided through the online booking. It took forever combined with a lot of other typing by the rental agent. A rental company in 2024 should have more digitalized processes and have a focus on optimization.

There needs to be 'truth in advertising' about this -- either the insurance from Discover shouldn't be offered if it isn't 'full coverage' or the rental agents should not make clients fearful of renting the car because they didn't use RecordGo insurance

Pros: They were helpful when our car broke down in Valencia even though to get replacement car took over 2 hours as the agent waited for approval from Barcelona. It caused late check in for our hotel in Barcelona.But replacement car was really good.

Cons: When they gave us the initial car it was in horrible condition.All scratches, back doors dented heavily.When I asked for different car they refused and after a few kilometers of driving there was a strong smell of burning which probably caused the car break down in Valencia.Luckily it happened just after leaving hotel so we got help from hotel reception.Can think of scenario if it happened on busy street or highway.It was first time happening with rental after 30 years of travel with rental.

The only people in my eyes lower than RecordGo are the Spanish Police - who despite knowing where our belongings were - wouldnt do anything.

Cons: The explanation of excess was poor, they’ve taken €1200 from my account which will take up to 30 days to refund, which is just poor, I opted for full to full, despite this they also have taken nearly €100 as a deposit, which again will take up to 7 days to refund. Just sharp practice and not at all good. I was disappointed with this as it’s all unnecessary.

Cons: Car had almost no oil in the engine. Oil warning light illuminated on day 2. Tried to contact their service department. Three calls (logged) not answered after waiting for 8.45 minutes. Resorted to buying 3l of oil (recommended by local garage) for Euros 54. On return was told that the cost of the oil would be refunded, as I had a receipt. Now Recordgo are refusing to refund. I saved them the cost of a siezed engine. Now I wish that the engine had seized which would have cost them a lot more.

As well they gave me car with tyre air pressure light on and when I asked to check why is on they told me all cars they use have this issue. Later I discovered tyre was loosing air.

Pros: The only negative was an situation where the display froze and we couldn't connect or charge our phones which made navigation challenging but it resolved itself. We emailed and didn't get an email back until days later when it was no longer a problem.

Cons: The service provided by RecordGo was exceptional. I just would like to make a small comment about the car itself in case it helps. The issue is that almost didn't use the car's cruise control, which made the long rides a little unpleasant and tiring, because the engine wasn't very powerful so the car accelerated too much constantly, with the resulting "wear-and-tear" of the engine, and much higher gas consumption, which defeats the goal of being an hybrid engine.

There were various other dents and major scrapes all over it. After 2 hours they eventually swapped the car for another one with less damage. The representative insisted we had to pay another 35 euros to get a different car. We had to go to find other Revordgo staff to sort this out. The 2nd car needed adblue added.

Cons: i didnt get the car that I paid for

Cons: extremely poor setup with no functioning payment facilities which made us wait for 3 hours and rental company pushing for their insurance than the one already covered was very bad

Pros: The car was a Chinese car, I never heard about. The motor power was really bad, and were loosing speed when driving uphill

Pros: Fast drop-off, no issues and stress free. Pointed out that windshield liquid deposit was empty and I could see how it was quickly messaged to the person taking care of the car.

Cons: The rental desk representative was not nice to us. My credit card was not recognized as such, and I was treated like I was trying to scam/cheat. After several back and forth and showing my bank credit card details then I was given an exception.

Pros: No fuss pick up and drop off.

Pros: They charge me 2 times for insurance I pay online then that say this insurance for the 3th part and it’s not covered only 2000 E the I pay 245 E additional for insurance and they charge me 111 E in case I return the car not full tank and even I fuel full fuel the car when I drop off they charge me 111 E for nothing so it’s really not recommended never rent car from this company

Pros: The representative gave me a good advice to rent a diesel (which helped me to save money on gas) and bigger car (more comfortable ) for additional $7 per day.

Cons: I needed to an additional insurance if something happend with the tires and there was no spare tire.

Cons: Drop off was not adequately signposted and caused issues. This is an airport issue more than car hire company.

Cons: The car was dirty on the inside and had a strong smell of cigarettes.

Pros: First we did not recieve the car we wanted, they told us they have a better one, only to return it back as the aircon was not working. Then we recieved the one we originally requested-all of a sudden they had it.

Cons: Long queue, bad car quality, tried to fool us plus they told us she has to go home so she cant serv us anymore

Cons: Cheap was expensive.. someone side swiped the car while the car was parking. they had the police report, the companies information. i used a credit card insurance so i declined to use theirs. they charged me 1500 euros and told me to get it from my card insurance.. i am very upset, they have all the details. i don't need to pay for anything... Take it with my card.

Cons: I had a damaged credit card and the terminal was not reading its data. It is not possible to pay the deposit over the phone to which my credit card was connected. It is not possible to pay the deposit via the form on the website. Fortunately, it was possible to pay the deposit with a debit card.

Cons: They tried to charge me twice for my final payment due at the desk and were very push about buying additional insurance when I had full coverage.

Cons: I booked an automatic. Attendant reconfirmed automatic. Then only a manual given. A bullshit black smudge on the hubcap was seen as grounds to charge me EUR 250. Criminal.

Pros: There was one sympathetic assistant who apologized for the loss of my luggage while waiting at the counter. One of the guys apologized for serving someone who arrived about 20 minutes after me.

Cons: The rude assistant told me to wait away from the counter, then finished her shift without telling others I was waiting patiently. Then having my suitcase stolen while waiting at the counter. Then being charged over 700 euros for scratches above the lights.

Cons: Record-go charge full insurance without asking. I notice and ask for cancellation of that, they insist to take full insurance. For driving France border Record-go charged 75 €, which is not clearly explain before rental. The picking up time was about 30 minutes. After the charging “extras” they give me the key and send to find the car at parking lot. Nobody explain about the car specipications.

Cons: It would be good to advertise the exact car brand you deliver to the client and not something else.

Pros: Nothing. They provided me with a vehicle that had existing body damage (scratches and dents) yet was told there was no existing damage. That was not true. I photographed what I saw, but unfortunately missed a scratch on the driver side view mirror and was assessed damage for that and an administrative fee. This seems to be some kind of racket that RECORDGO runs. That company will never have my business again.

Cons: It was slow and they didn’t take the time for a bumper to bumper check with the customer.

Pros: Rental agent was friendly very good English and was calm and friendly despite lots of customers and lots going on.

Cons: There was no sign on the outside of the rental hut which meant I spent a good 10 minutes wondering around trying to find it. Others in the queue agreed. There was very poor lighting in the carpark which made taking photos of any marks prior to taking the rental rather tricky.

Cons: car took long to become available. when returning the card I was charged €125 TWICE in my credit card without being informed what these charges were. I send multiple emails but got no reply from the supplier.

Pros: Booked a car from RecordGo thru' Discover Cars. Process wise was a breeze. Picked up Car at terminal in BCN. Everything was smooth.

Cons: Do take note if you did not purchase the FULL COVERAGE! Was assigned a Car with significant amount of body damage. Tried requesting for a change but none was available. Fortunately I took lots of photos and videos of the damaged areas. When returning the car, the staff highlighted that there were damages to the car that were not in their system. Fortunately, I had the photos and videos to proof otherwise. So do be careful. Some of the damage the staff highlighted were even small dinks.
