Pros: Instead, I was told I must purchase their in-house insurance for approximately £350 if I wanted to take the car. This felt like a deliberate tactic. At 1:00 AM, after a flight, in a foreign country, with no immediate transport alternatives, this creates enormous pressure on customers to accept unnecessary insurance. I refused to pay and had to call a friend to collect me from the airport in the middle of the night. Afterwards, I checked other reviews and saw similar complaints.

Cons: This appears to be a pattern: advertise extremely cheap rental prices and then find technicalities at the desk to force customers into buying expensive insurance. I have rented cars more than 20 times in my life and have never experienced this issue with a middle initial on a credit card. The card matched my name, was valid, and had sufficient funds.This experience was unacceptable, unprofessional, and left me stranded at night.As a frequent renter, you have permanently lost me as a customer.

Pros: I recently rented a car from Nu Car Rentals during my trip to Romania, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the service. The booking process was straightforward, and I had no issues with the reservation when I arrived at Bucharest Otopeni Airport. The staff were incredibly friendly and efficient. They greeted me right after I exited the terminal and helped me quickly with the paperwork. The car I rented was in fantastic condition—clean, well-maintained, and just as described in the listing.

Pros: There is nothing to like! The only positive thing about this experience with discovercars.com / NÜ Car Rental Premium DRAX SRL, manager Iulian Sorin Razar is that it seems as I should consider myself lucky I didn't get to actually finish renting a car from them and be charged thousands later as hidden fees, non-refundable deposits, etc

Cons: www.discovercars.com should take action agains companies like this and meanwhile post REAL reviews on their website. My experience results in a full-review on Google and everywhere else and never use www.discovercars.com either!

Cons: They hold car warranty as a payment and didn't payed back until now. The guy that approved car return as ok told me that they pay back warranty in few days, but limited to 30 days. I tried to return the car earlier, but they requested a fee. The advertised working hours (non stop) are not like rental office hours (Monday to Friday 9-18).

Free cancellation with a full refund up to 48 hours before your pick-up time, Unlimited mileage, Collision Damage Waiver (deductible: € 3600.00), Theft Protection, Third Party Liability (TPL), Airport surcharge, VAT (value added tax), Free modifications.
Rate excludes
The following mandatory surcharge(s) will be applied: Third Party Liability (TPL), Winterization fee.
Driver requirements
Minimum rental age is 21 years.
A young driver fee applies to drivers under the age of 25.

There is no maximum age.
A senior driver fee applies to drivers over the age of 71.

The driver license must have been issued by authorized authorities at least 1 year(s) before the date of the commencement of the rental.

Renters from the following country(ies): non-EU must provide the following documents: International Driving Permit (IDP) in order to collect the car.

A driver license printed using a non-Roman alphabet (Arabic, Japanese, Cyrillic, etc) must be supplemented by an International Driving Permit. Please note that the International Driving Permit is valid only if it is accompanied by a regular driver's license, is issued by an official authority or government-authorized organization, and is in physical (not digital) form.

In addition to documents mentioned previously, the customer will need the following: passport, valid driver license, credit card on a main drivers name, booking voucher.
Deposit and deductible policy

Prices for extras are shown on the booking page.


During the winter season (from 01.11 until 31.03) Winter package is/are mandatory for rentals in Romania and is/are not included in the price.
It is allowed to add up to 2 additional drivers.
Delivery/Collection service is available within city limits. Additional charges will be applied, depending on the distance.
Fuel policy
The vehicle is provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with the same amount in order to avoid additional charges.
Rental period
The maximum rental period per agreement is 90 days.
If the renter would like to extend the rental period, renter should return to the car hire office at the end of the rental period to sign a new agreement.
Business hours
Service outside of business hours is available by previous request at airport locations.
The supplier will hold the vehicle for 2 hours after your scheduled pick-up time as long as it is within their normal business hours. After this time, your booking may be canceled without refund.
