Eventually we called head office who couldn't get hold of the office either. We were hit and tired after a long flight and felt this wasted precious holiday time. When we got to the depot the rep on the desk told us the additional insurance we'd paid for wasn't sufficient and should there be an incident it would cost us a lot of money

Cons: The employee pressured me into buying very expensive platinium insurance at an extra cost of $495 for 10 days because she said I booked the car through Discover Cars and not direct therefoe the Discover Car insurance would only cover the other car and not the rental car. If I did not take out the Bargain Car Rental insurance then my rental car would not be insured and I would have to pay all of the damages to the rental car plus and extra $120 a day whilst the rental car was being repaired.

The process was extremely convoluted with me having to coordinate multiple parties. Communicating directly with a competent person a Bargain car rentals was impossible. Clearly Bargain's staff were 'well-trained' on the upsell, but also how to hassle customers without the premium insurance about very minor damage (e.g., light scratches, small dents) and line them up for claims. Cons: I felt I was pushed into paying insurance when I wasn't intending to. Apparently I opted for it in the booking but it was not intentional. Also when I was confused about the options the agent made me feel like an idiot for having her repeat it. She said, 'ok, I'll say it again..' not nice for someone that's just gotten of a plane and was tired.

Cons: It too very long to pick up the car (though I came about 2 hours earlier). But when the car was allocated, they spent another 20 min trying to figure out where the car is and eventually had to swap the car. As a result, I got Haval... that is not a good car to drive at all.
