Cons: They gave me a dodgy car, saying it was a faulty light on the dash when it was really indicating a flat tyre. They talked me into more expensive insurance, promising I would get a refund from the third party insurance and I haven’t received it. They promised me a day of car hire refund and I haven’t got it. The engine and breaks were dodgy too.

Not communicated prominently (or at all) during online booking, and the risks only explained on pick-up - including that Bargain would charge "loss of use" (i.e., rental rates) while the car is being repaired! Clearly Bargain's staff were 'well-trained' on the upsell, but also how to hassle customers without the premium insurance about very minor damage (e.g., light scratches, small dents) and line them up for claims. Pros: Everyone I spoke to was extremely friendly and helpful. I was already in Cairns and received assistance on how to catch public transport to the rental and was very happy with the friendly service. Very efficient and the shuttle bus guy was great! He helped us with loading and unloading our luggage. Highly recommended

Cons: No waiting at the desk as I had done pre pick up paper work on line. Could have explained the workings of the car as it was a totally different model I am used to , but not a big deal

Pros: Car was as specified online, pick arrangements worked well and car was ready to go.

Cons: Rental handover form was not filled in properly. Ie a number of significant scratches and even 1 small dent in drivers side door were not noted on the pickup form. Instead we were told to photograph it - which is hard to do in direct sunlight due to reflection. More to point - is hire car company's responsibility to fill in such paperwork properly - not leave it to a possible disagreement when we drop the car off. As it turned out - the drop off inspection went very smoothly.

Pros: Car was clean and ready for us although we had to wait a while to get served as they had picked up people from the airport just before we arrived by taxi.

Cons: Had to get a taxi from Accommodation in Cairns to depot to pick up car as they would only do pick ups from airport. Our flight arrived in Cairns late at night when depot was closed.

Pros: Good value compared to other car rentals. Great service provided with the shuttle bus to and from the airport. Easy pick up and return.

Cons: Some of the damage to the car was not marked on my documents at pickup. Although I raised this with the desk staff they said not to worry. So I took photos of the damage. However, throughout my hire period I was concerned that when I returned the car that this damage would be attributed to me, despite me reporting this damage to staff prior to leaving the car yard.
