Alamo at Cairns Airport

Pros: All requirements very clear

Cons: No problems at all

Pros: There was a bad smell in the car, smelled like body odour. The first car that was given to me had the worn out brakes.

Pros: Cost and easy to deal with

Pros: Check-in had been completed online so there was not much to do. Our return flight had been cancelled and pushed back a day. It was very easy to arrange the extension.

Cons: Everything was good.

Pros: Vehicle was very clean and well presented

Cons: The pick up period of over an hour was ridiculous. For the reason alone, we will be using another service in the future.

Cons: car wasnt available on arrival for me or 3 other families, despite booking pickup time and advising flight number. Had to catch an uber to make a meeting and come back to pick up later. Car got a flat battery on second day after driving it for 20min.

Pros: Next time book directly . Never use discover car anymore

Pros: Easy to find and agents were lovely. Took some time to pick up but nothing longer than expected. Good value car!

Cons: I didnt realise I had to install the car seat myself. I’m sure this is in the contract print but wasn’t made obvious by third party hirer.

Cons: I actually wanted a Skoda but was provided with a a MG. The car lacked power when driving up slight hills.

Cons: Really hard to get in contact with Alamo or discover cars to extend rental after flights were cancelled no one ever got back to us or answered our phone calls.

Pros: If it wasn't for Todd we would have been given a car that did not fit our luggage in and told it was not their problem but when I argued the point with him he then did his best to help us as we had a 6mth old baby and 3 elderly people as well as myself and partner they claimed you did not give them any information on the booking request which I find hard to believe as the Infant seat we paid for was in the car

Cons: Car’s signal and windshield wipers are opposite side what I used to.So I had a hard time cause of it.And the wiper didn’t clear the screen .I had a hard time with it too.Luckily it was sunny .Just last day (rainy) and morning I struggled with it.

Pros: The gentleman that served us was extremely polite and was doing his best to work through the line.

Cons: You pay a premium for having the luxury of picking up your rental car from the airport (rather than a shuttle bus to their nearby office) but if you are standing in line for 20-30 minutes and then your car isn't ready for you... you question your decision. Next time might give Right Price Rentals a go... if may be quicker and cheaper.

Cons: Get a much smaller car as compared to our booked one. When asked for a similar car or a bigger one with extra cost, was told not available. Very disappointed.

Cons: We ordered car seats and only found out on pickup they weren’t installed. The last thing I want to do is install seats myself with 3 young kids and was not told they would not be installed. The car kept displaying change engine oil notification the whole trip

Cons: Unfortunately, our flight changed and we arrived 2 hours earlier. Alamo couldn't accomodate us by picking up the car earlier unless we pay another several hundred dollars. We chose to wait instead.

Pros: Compared to a previous rental with Alamo it was like being with a different company.

Pros: The staff I dealt with at Alamo were both professional and friendly. They went out of their way to accommodate me and I could not be happier with the whole service from beginning to end. I would definitely recommend this company at Cairns airport. Great customer service is a rare treat in Australia and I was not disappointed!

Pros: The entertainment system of the first vehicle offered did not operate. Valuable time was lost working this out and when this was brought up to the representative, it was a known issue. We then had to wait for another vehicle to be found

Pros: The car we had originally booked had some issues with the bluetooth / touch screen in the car not working (Mitsubishi ASX). We notified the front desk and they gave us an upgrade. Very much appreciated

Cons: Tried to extend via their given Cairns Airport phone number as our plane was canceled and we had to reschedule for an extra 2 days, could not get through, despite leaving my phone number. Hence I didn't extend and just used taxis.

Pros: Easy to find at the airport, the car was in great condition, easy to drop off on return to airport, and as my flight was delayed by a day, so I had the car fro a day less, they reduced the agreed price which was great
