Cons: I had a terrible experience with East Coast Car Rentals. They tried to push their expensive insurance on me at the start, but I declined since I already had my own. Then, they charged me $660 for a small scratch, claiming it wasn't there before. However, there was already a similar scratch on the bumper, which I considered normal wear and tear. This company is dishonest and a total rip-off! Avoid them at all costs!"

Cons: I was asked to wait 40mins for airport shuttle drop off with my family. Explained our situation on getting delayed with the check-in times to catch the flight. The driver dropped off at the domestic line and we all were made to walk till the international departure with our luggages which is 750mts away. The driver could have asked us is there any one getting down on international departures.

Pros: We have hired many rental cars in the past and this was by far the most impressive service we have received . Fast pick up and drop off , very clear instructions . Uncomplicated and hassle free . Thank you for making this so easy for us

Cons: We booked a Suzuki Bleno but received a much smaller MG with a ridiculously small boot. Their website advertises airport pickup and drop-off, which is completely false; their location is off-airport. We had to take an Uber to the airport, a stressful experience that almost resulted in a missed flight. To add insult to injury, they charged us a hefty fuel surcharge because we were rushing to catch our Uber and didn't have time to fill up the tank. I would not recommend this rental company.

Pros: To connect with the rental car office to pick up from the airport was very easy via a link that was sent via sms. High frequent shuttle to and from the airport. Close to the main road to deliver back the car. Good and clean shuttle bus. Helpful driver.

Differing drop off hours told to us on pickup and then checking before drop off. Had to catch a taxi from drop off to airport as too early for shuttle. On early drop off, no instructions to indicate where to leave key so had to leave key hidden in unlocked car! Suggest clear maps for pick up and drop off, hours of shuttle week/weekend

Going through scratches etc in the car ok but when marks we're pointed out they said oh thatbis OK yet when we bought car back they took photos of the same scratches. We bought the car back 4 hours early but didn't get any refund..... we have had better deals from others. Next time if using the same rental we would make sure we were not rushed through.

Cons: There was flooding in Sydney and many delays at the airport. We had a slight delay until we boarded our plane. The plane was waiting on the runway with no cell service for a very long time. So it looked like we would just make it to Auckland in time to get our rental. Baggage was very slow. When we called they had just closed. We were stranded. No one attempted to call to see if we were running a few minutes late. So we had to go with another company open 24/7. Also lost $20 deposit!☹️

Cons: If we had known beforehand that the after hours rental return was off airport, we would not have rented car. Needed to drop off at 4.30am and was not told when we collected the car, that it had to be at depot, then make your own way to airport, 3.5km away. (We had to contact the company to find out what the drop off details were). Wasn’t a stress we needed when trying to get a flight overseas, so returned car early and made other arrangements.

Cons: the representative we spoke to was very friendly but was concerned we didn't book direct, we told them that we were returning the car at 7:30 am and needed to be shuttled to the airport but they neglected to inform us that they didn't open to 8:00 pm. so we had to wait. That along with the fact we were virtually stranded there with out a car until we paid extra and more insurance on a vehicle that was supposed to be fully insured .

Cons: The only part which I did not like was the relationship around discover cars with East coast car rental as the team their denied completely any understanding or knowledge of what Discover cars had charged me and why. Secondly, when I booked with discover cars, I paid about $30 for child seat. But East Coast Car Rental charged me $ 50. Not much difference, but you do not like it when your booked item has a cost change without any reason.

The staff looked disorganised and confused at times. Also misleading information on the website selling you full insurance cover and then when you collect the vehicle you are told it is only covering a gap and you will be liable to pay a large amount should anything happen unless you take out more insurance.

Cons: It took 45 minutes to pickup the car as there were only 2 people serving. Each customer took between 10-15 mins to serve. They take photos before they lend you the car and literally go over the car with a fine tooth comb on its return. The car I had had a dent on the boot and multiple scratches. I made sure that the photos taken covered all of these and no prob on return. What irks me is how they looked for marks upon return to slug a fee even though their cars clearly do not get repaired.

Cons: The amount of time and the detail with which both the pre and post condition report and endless photographs taken left me fearful that they were interested in bolstering their rental return by finding paltry reasons to extract money. Sticky tape residue was adhered to the exterior of two of the doors and it got extra attention at the end despite being on the car when it was presented.

Website says they can pick up from hotels as well as airport but when I rang in the morning to ask if they could do this they said they didn't do hotel pick ups. Had to pay 20 aud for taxi to their office. Even though I had purchased full cover through Discover Cars they told me it wasn't good enough or would be a problem claiming and tried to sell me their insurance. Clearly not happy I wouldn't buy theirs.

Cons: Horrible service. It took over an hour to be served. The agents where hard selling their extra insurance to every customer, especially to foreign customers who were struggling to understand. After the very long wait the agent was extremely rude and unpleasant. They tried to overcharge me until I showed them my DiscoverCarHire invoice, then they reluctantly agreed that I was right. After an hour and a half I could finally get my 3 kids into the car. NEVER AGAIN!!!
