Simba Car Hire at Cairns Airport

Cons: When you arrive at the airport and phone for the courtesy car it never arrived, and after 40 min I phoned Simba and used option 4 and spoke to the office staff who told me they never got my original message, even though I had message confirmation that the driver was leaving to pick us up.

Cons: I did not enjoy driving the car provided. I had an incident and had difficulty explaining it to staff over the phone.

Pros: The pick up was slow, the operator was by himself and had 4 customers waiting. It took about an hour to collect a vehicle that we had already done a fast check-in for.

Cons: Cost could have been cheaper. 3rd party insurance needs to be integrated with the leasing company to avoid having to manually pay in tye event of a damage and then claim back.

Cons: The vehicle, a Haval Jolion, considered 'similar' to the advertised Mitsubishi ASX, except the latter would have been better The most annoying car to drive I (& passengers) can recall, with its constant 'beeping' & warnings, for no good reason. Suggest Simba examine the car's electronics & disable those silly, annoying features that can so distract a driver

Cons: I was told that Discover would charge deductible on the car insurance claims so I was forced to buy coverage from Simba in addition to Discover. It resulted in a loss of $200. I would not recommend Discover or Simba to anyone.

Cons: They push very hard for extra insurance - even though I told them I had full excess cover and brought the documentation with me-they clearly want to make money on this which I understand but the alarmist approach is excessive and inappropriate. That needs to stop. I wouldn’t hire from them again for that reason. Not acceptable-scares you before you even get into a car -and I’m driving 30 years and never had an accident-felt like telling them to stuff their car..

Cons: The rental place is not attached to the airport and was closed when we went to return the car even though I had stated we would be returning it at 7am. We had to drive to the airport, drop the passengers and luggage off then return to the depot, leave the car and get a taxi back to the airport. We were not anticipating this and it would been good if we were made aware that this would be the case.

Pros: Everything!! I selected the basic car hire and we had a sports MG bright yellow beautiful car to drive service was amazing very easy to deal with, would highly recommend. The lady that met us at the airport was great, recommended things to do while in cairns, transport was clean and not crowded, and drop off fella was a kind lovely man, Thanks guys for great service. Literally 5 mins drive to airport. we received our holding deposit same day although that may be due to the bank I bank with.
