Airport travel guide

Affluent and innovative, the Dallas–Fort Worth area is rightly considered one of the best places to live in Texas and beyond. It’s fun to visit, too, not least for its lively cultural scene and many landmarks. Here are three suggestions for your trip:
- Perot Museum of Nature and Science. One of the most interesting in all of Texas, the Perot Museum covers the topics of science, natural history, and imagination. From a skeleton of the Tyrannosaurus Rex to dioramas of Texas ecosystems, interactive prosthetic hand, and a planetarium, this museum is a fun place to visit for the whole family. Visit its official website to learn more about collections and opening hours.
- Arts District. Located in the northern part of Downtown Dallas, this is the most sophisticated part of the city – and also one of its most interesting. As suggested by the name, the concentration of cultural venues is really high, with the Dallas Museum of Art, Nasher Sculpture Park, and Moody Performance Hall as some of the most notable places to visit.
- Cedar Hill State Park. Located just southwest of downtown (and southeast of Arlington and Fort Worth), Cedar Hill is one of the nicest parks in the Dallas metropolitan area. Situated along one of the banks of the Joe Pool Lake, it is the perfect place to see the limestone escarpment landscape characteristic of Northeast Texas, as well as see some of the more than 200 bird species that nest here. There is also the Agricultural History Center, which features reconstructions of several traditional farms.

Services and facilities
You’ll find countless shops, including duty-free outlets for international passengers, in Terminals A and B, as well as many fast food outlets, coffee shops, bars, and restaurants. There are also many ATMs, several currency exchanges, three on-site hotels, baby changing rooms, a children’s play area, a pet hotel, massage services, a pharmacy, a spa, a yoga studio, a barber shop, art exhibits, an observation deck, and interfaith chapels. Dallas-Fort Worth Airport is accessible to travelers with reduced mobility. You can find more information on the airport's official website.
Nearest gas station
There is a Shell station right by the rental car return at DFW. It should be no surprise that prices at this station are significantly higher than elsewhere in the area. But you could fill up earlier and use the station as a place to top off at before returning your vehicle.
