Pros: The car was damaged on the left side but the car information only had damage recorded on the right. So I had to take photos for evidence on return which caused me anxiety in case the didn’t believe me. I have had €42 taken by top car and no explanation why.

Cons: I paid extra insurance to discover cars at time of booking. When I collected the car I had to ether pay another €49 for full insurance or pay a refundable €900 if I return without damage. If I caused damage they would keep the €900 and I would have to claim back through the original insurance I bought. Extremely frustrating I have hired numerous cars and never had money actually taken off my credit card, and not it hasn’t been fully returned and I don’t know why.

They offered us a free tank of petrol as compensation - when we drove the car away, it only had a quarter of a tank of petrol left. On returning the car, we were told to contact Head Office - I can't even find the right email address!

I contacted the Top Car office who stated they would provide another car (a 1 hour and a 1/2 round trip plus the waiting to get sorted of our holiday)which I thought was unreasonable. I asked if they would deliver a car to us and said they would but would take the £700 deposit which I thought was unacceptable so didn’t push the issue any further.

Pros: It was easy and like I said, a solid contract.

Cons: The fact that I had to pay more then €60 for a second driver. I should be included for a holiday. The shape of the car was not that good. Lots of scratches and the roof (we had a soft top convertible) had 2 holes in it. That is not €500 worthy

Cons: The car was in bad condition. The clutch needs urgently to be replaced. Body work terrible. No windscreen water. Very dirty. A real old banger!

Pros: They did help on transferring a new van to me, but not after thinking I was lying about the first van having an engine fault.

Pros: The car was available at the airport and it was not too busy either. I preferred that agent offered me additional insurance but did not push for it.

Cons: There was no information shared about the existing damage on the car, this is kept on the system and not shared with the rental customer which is silly. I had to take pictures of all scratches and dents instead of getting them all on a paper and look at exceptions. The cars were not very clean on the outside and the wiper did not clean the glass properly.

Pros: Friendly staff who were tentative and kind.

Cons: MONEY STOLEN FROM ME, I had money stolen from me when I left a deposit. I was charged £736 taken as a deposit and they returned £562 and tried to claim it was a fluctuation in the euro! See you in court!
