Goldcar at Madrid Airport

Cons: Fuel deposit 154 euro.. it must be refunded in one hour right after returning a car. That is what she at a desk told me to make sure. But still I am waiting for. This is very unpleasant process. I called the service center and Andrea who responded me explained you completed the refund process but it takes because my bank is from abroad. But..... didnt you know I am from abroad??

Cons: Claiming the car was in an accident when it wasn't; trying to extract money for damage that was not present when we returned the car.

Cons: the clerk at the rental desk was a little more "pushy" than needed. I am a frequent renter, and know the rules, but It took a 15-20 minutes discussion when they accepted that I did not need the additional coverage they offered. :)

Cons: Only issue is that the tyre pressures are obviously not checked often as I had to fill them up myself as the warning light came on during my trip

Pros: That they kind a did provide a car and was kind at least.

Cons: They provided electric car but with no options to charge it from charge networks in the country which was a big problem. So I returned the car, but they was not able to give any gasoline car in exhange for this electric. I had to rent car from another company right at the airport desk which is quite expensive.

Cons: Being told I need to pay taxes when I went to pick up the car. I think this should be included when you are making the payment for the car rental online.

Cons: At picking up, the agent pushed me 3 times in a quite offensive way to buy their insurance , even if i already had one bought by discovercars. He told me they wouldnt give me money back. Well, i received them 2 days after i dropped off the car

Pros: One person on the desk on a Saturday morning at a major international airport...really !!! Guy that eventually served us looked fed-up and quite rude. Told him we had already spoken to Goldcar main office to explain our situation and that they had put instruction notes on the system for him to read......he told us there was nothing !! He then went on to totally confuse us by saying that because our card was in English pounds he would have to charge us €54 extra each way ?????

Cons: Almost everything !!! Guy on the desk on tuesday evening (Daniel) when we returned the car was great..very helpful, polite and courteous. Unlike the first guy (Eduardo/ Edward ?) who was none of these....as mentioned above.

Cons: Not so much Discover Cars but very pushy salesperson on rental desk - really tried hard to sell us extra insurance even though we had already purchased full insurance

Cons: Car was completely battered and dented. It had no rear parcel shelf so all our bags in the boot were exposed to anybody, leaving us nervous about security for our entire holiday. We asked if we could have a same car replacement, the answer was no. We were offered a bigger car but we would have to pay the extra. We were offered a smaller car but were not offered a discount. Just took the original car and just tried to reduce our risk as best as we could. Non unlimited miles also gave extra cost.

Cons: I had to perferm the oil change of the car 500 km after departure ! Contact them several time customer service via email and phone...and no answer or "wage" answer. Wanted me.to make an extra 250 kg to go at their location !!! I was going to pay for.fuel, toll, km on th car and my time for a job they did not perform !!!

Cons: I was denied a rental at the arrival. The agent stated that the absence of international lisence prevented her from lending me a car. I went across the hall to Hertz and they didn’t have the same qualms. I’ve traveled all over the world and never was I questioned about international license which is nothing more that a simple translation to an existing license.

Cons: Very tricky with the car insurance, charging a lot more. l have not yet received my deposit (152EU). I returned the car with a full tank over a week ago.

Cons: I don't like the policy of returning the car without filling it. Not only the charge of 21€ but I did not use the amount of gasoline which was charged after. The price would have been near 3€ per liter instead of the 1.25 or so at the gasolinera. Let me have the option of which way to return the vehicle.

Pros: Nothing! They were horrible. Had to take a bus to the other terminal. It took an hour to see an agent, even though there werr only two people in front of me. The car was awful did not have Anti Lock Brakes.

Cons: We called customer service and they told us to buy break fluidb and put it in the car ourselves!!! We tried to find and autoshop and everything would take 2 hours. This all on our own. We had to then look at YouTube videos to try to figure out what kind of break fluid and where to do it. We were not near the location where we rented it so we had no other choice. Goldstar didn't offer to give us another car at the closest location Whiich would have been a 20 mins drive.
