Cons: Your partner Goldcar cheated on car "damage"

Cons: No one comes out to the car when you pick it up to confirm the cars condition, this could have ended up being very costly for me if we had not made a video of the cars condition when we picked it up.

Pros: Terrible

Cons: I had a voucher for a car at Goldcar in Valencia, scheduled to pick up at 17:00h. Due to flight delay, I arrived around 18:15-18:30. At Goldcar we were told your voucher was only valid for 60 mins and that we were considered a no show. As result we were forced tor rent another car for over 350 euro.

Pros: Another successful car hire. Very friendly staff and helpful

Cons: They do push you to take the full cover but there is no obligation.

Pros: Smooth and simple booking, collection and drop off.

Cons: Car smelt like cigarette smoke, had a lot of cosmetic damage upon collection (correctly noted on documents).

Cons: they gave me a very uncomfortable car, and they want to charge me a penalty after telling me they wouldn't.

Pros: Pick up desk was well staffed and fairly quick, polite service. Car was on site so no need for a shuttle bus

Cons: There was a hard sell for their excess insurance product even after you told them you had sorted it independently (the lady who served us was not too bad but I overheard some of the other staff really trying to push it on people). Not Goldcar per se but the entrance to the car park for drop off is too tight and risks damaging the car right at the end of the hire period. If hiring a 7 seater van be wary as a friend did damage it trying to get through and was charged €1700 (Alamo, not Goldcar)

Pros: The staff at GoldCar were very aggressive and intimidating trying to sell extras

Cons: Will never use GoldCar again absolute scammers

Pros: I did not like anything, When we got there, the queue was so long, after waiting for one hour, the lady tried to sell us her own insurance, besides we told her we purchased full insurance from Discover cars.

Cons: On the day of the pick up, the car was nice but we had to point all the scratches that were there on the car and it was not included on the report. On the day of drop off, it was the worst experience ever: The guy was so rude and he started pointing out all the scratches that were there before even picking up the car on 17th August, we had all the pictures and we showed him everything, but he started arguing with us that we scratched the car and he told us to sign some document, but I refused.

Cons: Hard sell for extra insurance, which was more than triple the rental. Car was smaller than expected, could NOT fit two large case in the boot.

Cons: We waited over one hour just to get the keys very poor service, everyone collecting cars at airport complained about time it was taking to sign for the keys.

Pros: The price was very competitive.

Cons: The que at the collection desk was huge and it took ages this each person. There was one person in front of me at one point and it took 20 minutes to serve them! When seeing the car it was not what we expected. Goldcar said their classification of vehicles is different to Discovery Cars. We booked an intermediate SUV such as a Peugeot 3008 and we were given a Kia Ceed! Luggage would not fit so we had to change cars but they only had a manual available so we had to take it after booking a auto.

Cons: Dat ze er alles aan gedaan hebben ons bang te maken en hierdoor een extra verzekering te moeten afsluiten.

Cons: Car fithy, hard to inspect for damage. Supplied a hybrid which I hadn't requested and only provided a domestic charging cable which was of no use to me. Ended up paying to drag the battery around for a month.

Pros: nothing, old car, damaged and very arrogant person in charge of receiving the car, I was charged €100 for a damaged hubcap, but the car is completely covered in dents and scratches, including all 4 hubcaps...

Cons: the person in charge of receiving the car arrogant and very dishonest, the car was clearly very damaged already upon delivery, but according to this person I had damaged a plastic hubcap with a charge of €100!!! So much so that the agent at the counter at the time of rental did not have the key to give me, and asked the colleague in the parking lot if the car was rentable because it had previously been in an accident...

Pros: Having the desk inside the terminal was good

Cons: The sales pitch at the desk. We have already paid for extra insurance with the 3rd party, was told we should not have done this and it would not be worth anything should anything go wrong. If a company is in partnership with someone they need to be professional about that business rather than suggesting their business partner has been underhand. It set out holiday off with a very bad feeling.

Pros: The car staff were very knowledgeable and efficient.

Cons: Couldn't access their "club" to submit documents in a pre pick up service

Pros: Gold car themselves were good, friendly and efficient, wish I’d ordered directly through them and not discover cars.

Cons: The car provided was of poor quality. I was charged a huge deposit which hasn’t been refunded. Gold car offered their own full coverage insurance for €180, but I had paid discovercars for full insurance and was charged €1600 deposit on my credit card which hasn’t been refunded yet.

Pros: The disapproval of the staff at Goldcar because you do not buy their full coverage. Only pushing to sell more. Very irritating

Cons: Upon handing out my car yesterday I asked for a receipt that everything was okay and that there was no additional damage to the car. I had to fill in my mailadress and sign on a tablet. The receipt would have been in my mailbox within minutes. I am still waiting...

Pros: Car was fine until electrical faults showing the tank was not full (it had been filled up less than 5 mins (3km) outside the airport) which led to a very unhelpful encounter with the argumentative agent we were trying to return it to.

Cons: A load of unnecessary stress for something that was a fault with the car and no apology or acknowledgement from the agent. Unbelievably unhelpful. Dont go with Gold Car!

Pros: Help desk was understanding of my predicament and tried his best to get me a fair deal.

Cons: Wheel hubcap fell off, I had to buy it to avoid fines. Who need these hubcaps?

Cons: The car struggled to start from when I picked it up then the battery broke during the trip, so I lost half of my trip to dealing with the car. The English support number took forever to get through and kicked me off the line after 30 mins on hold at one stage.

Cons: La première voiture fournie était complètement hors d'usage : une roue était totalement comprimée par la jante suite à un choc visiblement assez violent. Il nous a fallu montrer cela au personnel, qui a aussitôt entrepris de nous fournir un autre véhicule. Au final nous avons tout de même perdu beaucoup de temps.

Cons: Mileage charges ridiculous. Car was scuffed when picked up; this seemed to be the case for the other customers too: the damage wasn't recorded on the sheet. One is inclined to suspect that damage from rentals with full excess waiver is being passed on to renters without it in the hope that they won't notice. Either that, or cars aren't being adequately checked over. Either way, this is inadequate. I had the impression that Godcar were doing everything that they could to gouge a few extra Euros

Pros: Gold car were very helpful but discovercars.com were useless .. very poor communication… they took my deposit money, I’ve received a confirmation email but no cars are available at the provider

Cons: The representative at kiosk was so rude because we had already taken extra insurance through discover card.com when we booked he was so aggressive and saying we never had adequate insurance and if we were to have an accident we were not covered and it would cost €1400 still he was very rude to my wife when she dared to question him on anything also when we went to the car the paperwork said no damage I had to get the man to come out and photograph four areas of damage to bodywork and wheels

Cons: The gentleman at the desk was trying to sell me insurance, another €206. I advised that I had an excess insurance policy, yet he laughed & continued to pressure, "it's a bad decision, you will find out when you need to claim & they won't pay out". You will regret it when you lose your deposit etc etc I'm sure he gave me the worst car they had, it was full of dings etc & was gutless to drive. However, on return I was assured everything was in order & my money would be returned in the next few day

Cons: Nothing, they are thieves! Never again with this rental company. The car was supposed to cost 170 euros and ended up costing 350 euros.

Pros: Despite them talking / virtually threatening us into their excess insurance - the car provided was better then booked and they included an additional driver.

Cons: Gold Car rep managed to pursuede us to take their excess insurance despite me having a separate cover by making it very clear that they ‘could’ make it very difficult to not incure additional charges when dropping off the car.

Cons: pickup was a fairly heavy sell on upgrading the Insurance (I already had fully comp !) reception was fairly indifferent almost rude Spent 25 mins going over the vehicle making sure that all the small nicks were fully recorded ... staff kept stating 'not too worry/it's too small' wasn't convinced We were running a little late and didn't top up the fuel .... possibly 15 euros worth so the 50 euro penalty plus 25 euro admin charge stung somewhat .... Ok in the 'fine print' !

Cons: I was blackmailed into taking extra out insurance by the agent at car hire desk and then lied to about my card being refused by my credit card company without it actually being presented to them. It was very disappointing and dishonest

Cons: As i ticked flexi fuel i was charged double the amount, car did very very low miles and tanks was FULLY filled, it was NOT full when i picked up, shame as i would of used goldcar again. car also had heavy damage on right hand sill and wheel arched, lucky we found it!!!!!!!!!

Cons: Hidden fees not explained until after the purchase on discover car hire. And then even more once at the check in desk. What was supposed to be a 20 something pound rental ended up costing nearly £200 after picking the car up. Yes some of it was refunded, but it's still a shock when you are expecting a "cheap" rental

Pros: Fast service

Cons: They effectively ignored the fee charged at Discover and slapped on £200 for us. They didn't return the excess money on the left-over petrol (third-tank remaining) either, despite this being written on the contract.
