Pros: The car and price were great, good value. The staff were all helpful. We just had a bit of a wait for the shuttle bus to collect us on arrival. We didn’t have long before the office closed so ended up getting an uber to take us there as we didn’t want to miss it. On returning the car we were dealt with really quickly and the shuttle bus was already waiting to take us to the airport. All in all I would definitely recommend this company.

We could never get on to the shuttles easily either. Docs not clear that we needed to look for the routine shuttle. Booster seats are expensive and we were asked to top up for insurance we reached which cost as much as the rental

Cons: Instructions on pick up were unclear. We followed the instructions to the pick up point but did not know there were further instructions to contact them for a pick up as this was buried in an attachment doc and not in the email. After 10mins of trying to figure out how we were supposed to reach out to them, we spent 30 mins trying to contact bargain car to arrange for a shuttle pick up but no reply. When we realised the shuttle was there it was full so we couldn't get on.

Cons: On arrival from Shanghai, I provided my Victorian Drivers Licence. I was told that I could not rent a car with that licence, I needed to show my Shanghai licence. I was astonished. Of course I left that at home in Shanghai assuming that they wd require the Victorian licence. Only after much pleading and a discussion with the manager did I receive the car.

A friendly staff at Bargain Car Rentals quickly arranged roadside assistance to inspect the car and deemed it safe to drive, although the squeaky sound could not be fixed.

Cons: They charged us for an extra service we didn't ask for, didn't inform us about the payment, just added it and charged our credit card. We found out later. Terribly inconvenient system of calling from the airport for the pick-up shuttle, no rental desk, no-one waiting (although we provided our flight number and arrival time). Not everybody has a working Australian phone number minutes after landing, it took us almost an hour and three phone calls before we finally got on the shuttle bus.

Pros: I had to rent another car from Eurocar because the car I got from discover cars had to be returned after my early morning flight.

Cons: They are only open after 7 while my flight was early morning at 6. This was not communicated well and cost me double the money for renting another car from Eurocar. Very bad experience!

Pros: The drop off was amazing. We basically parked it up and the guy was there to take the key, check the car and check the petrol whilst we unpacked and got the waiting shuttle to the airport. Amazing.

Cons: When I returned the car was told I’d have to wait about 20 minutes if I wanted to have the car checked In view of the poor reputation of car hire firms when cars are returned, I think someone should be available to check the car with the customer Also if I hire a car I’d expect it to be in full working order. So if it breaks down I would not expect to have to pay extra for a breakdown company to rescue me. I’d expect to be able to ring the hire company to sort it out free of charge.

Cons: Pickup shuttle from the airport to rental office was confusing. There was no way to find out when and where the shuttle will come exactly. Had to call customer service for this. On time of car check-out, the executive was rude since I had taken insurance from Discovers cars and not from them. They tried to push be to take their insurance and cancel the insurance for which I have already paid. When I rejected, they gave me all kind of weird scenarios of things going wrong.
