We traveled across southern Spain, visiting a few cities, while trying to stay out of tourist hotspots. Valencia was a surprisingly less touristy than we were expecting, we'll definitely visit again. Granada is a has a lovely old town, although the streets where we were staying aren't exactly car friendly, steep, cobbled and very narrow and winding in places. Our car was on the larger side and a brand new out of the showroom, it was hair raising at some parts!
Cadiz is a friendly city with a nice town, and Benahavis near Marbella was a lovely little town. The Amanhavis Hotel there was where we stayed, and I've never felt so welcomed as there! The owners and staff are extremely attentive and friendly! With quirky but excellent rooms and one of the finest meals we've ever been served from their restaurant, this is the place I would recommend above all our hotels! With plenty of restaurants just a couple of minutes walk away in the town, where the standard was just as high, Benahavis shouldn't be missed!
