Pros: Very easy to drop off the car and included comprehensive cover in the quoted price - no hidden costs when collecting the car

Cons: It was very slow to collect the car in Tenerife South airport terminal. We queued for over 40 minutes.

Cons: Experience at drop off was in dark zone. Didn't know what to do. No clesr instructions or steps given to let us know what to expect and how long should we wait or how should we expect refund of deposit. Had to ask questionevery time. Agent seemed bit rude.

Cons: The car wasn’t very clean inside, seats were sandy and there were used drink bottles. Also the outside of the car had a lot of marks and dents which I had to take a video of at pick up because I didn’t want the hire company thinking that I had damaged it. Also the MG we had was very expensive on fuel

Pros: Fast easy pick up, friendly helpful agent, nice clean car (Kia Stonic).

Cons: We had no problems, but our son who also hired from Top Car was charged €90 for a broken vanity mirror which we believe was pre-existing damage. The mirror was the first thing the drop off agent checked, as if she knew it was there. Normally would expect her to check for external damage first. In addition the mirror was hidden behind a sliding cover, so the damage was not visible to him. The charge of €90 is also excessive.

Pros: The Tenerife guides were great. No complaints

Cons: No inspection of the car with an agent to verify on pickup of any damage or to show how everything works in the car. You are just given the key and find it

Cons: They didn’t check the car over with me at the start and on returning the car I got nothing to prove I had handed it over with no issues and had to trust their word of mouth that the deposit would be reimbursed within a week. It actually showed as pending the same day, which was good.

Cons: I didn't realise that the sat nav was not built I to the car, so I had to buy a cable in Tenerife to allowed to connect the phone to the car display.

Cons: They do not walk around the car on pick up or in anyway tell you to check the condition. On coming back they try to tell you the scratches are yours. We had videos to prove them wrong but it was luck!

Cons: Signage in airport very confusing taking you to opposite end of car rental park. Look for small Topcar sign, ignore larger one :( Also tried to extend to car by calling number provided. Never any agents available and no one rang back, so didn't bother in the end

Pros: The gentleman who served us in the airport was excellent. The car I hired wasn't available but he was able to upgrade me to a better car! I hope he has many happy miles driving his BMW in the Tenerife sunshine

Pros: I liked the attention by some staff when we found the car. Anna was very helpful in amending paperwork (i.e adjusting the fuel amount on the paperwork to reflect the actual amount in the car) and provided options for a different vehicle if we wanted to change.

Cons: The initial process had a hard sell on extra insurance (80 Euros) that was not needed. Although we booked the car a while earlier we recalled we had taken the full insurance to waiver all costs. Fortunately we found the small print on the paperwork advising us to decline this, and to pay the refundable deposit. This hard sell for andditional unnecessary insurance, especially after a long journey, was annoying.

Pros: Car was ready and keys handed to me at the service desk in the airport terminal. In the past I have had to take the confirmation page to the office in the car park across from the terminal to collect the key, which took more time.

Cons: Queuing at the service desk for nearly an hour to collect confirm the contract and collect the key.

Pros: Topcar provided an A+ service.

Cons: The car was quite dirty when collected. Other than that, service was excellent.

Cons: Nobody checked the car or showed us the car, just keys and go and get the car… this was late at night. Deposit was high and a payment not a deposit hold.

Pros: Guy at the airport… perfect English and friendly. We arrived late (Ryan Air) but all sorted with no drama.

Pros: Very quick service, choice of 3 cars (all above the category ordered)

Cons: Car had a number of (small) dents and scratches, and a piece of external trim missing but when picking up the car there was no indication on the handover sheet. I was told to take photos of any damage I found on the car and keep it until I got the deposit back - I took 17 photos. When returning the car it took less than 1 minute and I had to point out the missing trim (the guy was obviously under pressure and wasn't really interested).

Pros: Easy to find the desk, next to arrivals, there was charge of 30 euro for out of hours pick up, car park close to airport across the road.

Cons: Car itself was average especially to drive (it was DS4) & space inside is limited but no fault of the Topcar, car was reliable & fuel efficiency was again average even though it was hybird. Discover charged £45 for additional insurance & that was same price offered at the desk (so could have avoided paying deposit on the card).

Cons: Car was rather older and showed cosmetic wear and tear externally including no rear wiper blades. For the price, the car ran well and did everything we needed it for.

Cons: The hire agreement I have to sign at terminal has a pre-existing damage sketch which was blank but the car was quite badly damaged. I was advised to video it but why give a different message at the hire desk? Either the diagram is part of agreement or (as it seems) it isn’t. Please be clear to avoid any anxiety

I appreciate there was a large number of flights departing but a designated return zone would solve that problem. €6 per day for the top up insurance is fine for a five or six day trip but for a two week trip it become excessive at close to €100. Think you could do better on that subject.
