Pick-up instructions
Upon arrival at Funchal Airport, you should proceed to the first exit, in front of “Go To Coffee & Food” (outside the terminal). You will then be collected and taken, by shuttle bus, to the DRIVINGMADEIRA depot. This will be approximately a 3-minute journey. The shuttle service is running constantly. If you have been waiting longer than 15 minutes, please call DRIVINGMADEIRA on 00351 966302240.
Drop-off instructions
Car return (7AM-8PM) - To the Office - Free shuttle back to the airport, 3 minutes away. Car return (8PM-7AM) - Keybox at the airport parking (Information provided at pick up).

Pros: Fantastic service in each aspect of the rental. Good price, ease of drop off and pick up and an unfailing sense of honesty. I did not feel that I was going to be hit with unfair costs or charges at any point - and I wasn't. The security deposit was refunded in full as we left. the car was excellent too.

Pros: Very friendly staff. Quick and easy to deal with.

Cons: It was not clear where and when the shuttle bus would arrive. There was a number to call but that's expensive from a UK mobile. It would have been better to be able to use Whatsapp or just have it made clearer where the bus would be.

Pros: Efficiency, helpfulness & polite staff members who helped on two occasions. 1) We were unable to collect the car on the date due as we could not land at Funchal airport. The staff member I spoke to confirmed it would be okay the next day when we were arrived. 2) Our car had problems with the clutch two days before the end of my rental period - when the office was contacted out of hours they said they would be with us within two hours with a replacement car which they were, excellent service.

Pros: The car was in good condition, clean and good on petrol. The staff were nice, not pushy on insurance and dropped us off back at the airport quickly.

Cons: We couldn't find them at the airport. I had to ask at another station. They need a clear sign or the woman with the clipboard needs to stand still holding it.

Pros: Car had a few scuffs and scrapes, but was all accounted for by the agent upon collection of the keys. So no further charges were made to us on returning. Mini bus collected us & dropped us back at the airport promptly with no issues.
