Rentx Car Rental at Madeira Airport (Funchal)

Pros: The company isn’t on the airport complex, a quick phone call on arrival gets you picked up promptly and transferred locally to collect your vehicle - all smooth and hassle free. Helena at the Reception Desk was very friendly and helpful, all explained fully with no issues.

Cons: Nothing comes to mind - all was excellent.

Pros: An excellent service by Rentx, the team were communicative, supportive and helpful.

Cons: Initially couldn't find where shuttle went from. There were no signs or info given. It was only obvious when the shuttle turned up.

Cons: Unclear message about where to be picked up at airport. Needs to say that you go outside the arrivals and pick up areas look for company car.

Cons: The car was quite tired. It was a 7 seater which I presume is not always popular, but there were several bits that need attention - the brakes and the clutch!

Pros: They accepted visa debit card. Very efficient. I gave a call through whatsapp when we have picked up our luggages and turned out the free shuttle was already waiting for us. Accommodated our time to return car as we had to return at 2.30 am. There was already one of the staff waiting for us, Vito and gave us a free ride to airport again.

Pros: There was no pressure to purchase extra insurance There was no rental car sticker on the car which I appreciated I was able to bring the car back in the middle of the night because I had misread when my flight was. All in all a great service. At a reasonable price.

Pros: Smooth rental, despite the flight delay there was a member of staff who confirmed that will be waiting and it was in the middle of the night. No issues after collecting the car, no issues on the return. Great communication with the supplier via Whatsapp. Online check-in offered to speed up the process of collecting the car. All great. Pros: Excellent service. From pick up at the airport via shuttle to dropping the car off and shuttle back to airport, the whole process was fast and efficient. The car was in excellent condition and the agents were friendly and efficient. No sales pitch pressure!

Cons: Not so much service but our car was not powerful enough to cope with the hilly terrain in Maderia. I live driving usually but did not enjoy driving this holiday. Not sure how I could have been advised to get a more powerful engine 🤷‍♀️

Cons: Could have been given a bit more info regarding car features and roads to take immediately from hire place. I was not used to rhdrive or gears so set off in a bit of a panic, a bit of guidance on direction would have helped. Apart from this it was excellent.

Cons: I'd say everything went smoothly apart from the last trip to the airport, the car lost power & wouldn't rev beyond 3k revs, as the resort was on a hill it just about made it out, luckily the airport run was downhill.
