I went for the New Year celebrations with my Wife and Daughter. The experience of the amazing celebrations was incredible and breathtaking. We stayed for a further 7 days and discovered Madeira again. We visit the Island every couple of years, but always in the summer. This was our first visit for New Year and we luckily came prepared for the incredible variations of weather at this time of year. Truly amazing trip, revisting all the fabulous restaurants, viewpoints and discovering the museums.

Amazing place to drive and visit… however you must have a head for heights and enjoy lots of hair pin turn if you go in the mountains.. roads are really good and you might get board of tunnels.

Madeira is a breathtaking island with stunning scenery, well worth a visit. The road infrastructure is very impressive but there are some very windy, steep roads so you need to be a confident driver and I recommend hiring a powerful car.
